some long time catholic friends of my family say the virgin mary told the people there would be three days of intense darkness and the evil spirits would run rampant on the earth. That the faithful are to stay in their homes and draw the shades to keep the evil out and to not let anyone in during that time even if it is a friend or family member because they might be possessed of the devil...I kid you not...my mouth dropped open when I heard that...I even read this little booklet about it....
