A mainland group of born-again Christians shouted a message of hellfire for homosexuals and others for five hours yesterday as University of Hawaii students shouted back.
(...)
"They started making personal attacks on people's culture," said Ann Clarke, 18. One of the "preachers" told a Korean student that he is going to hell for his Buddhist beliefs and told Hawaiians they are going to hell because they worship false gods and believe in witchcraft, she said.

"worship false gods"
I don't know about anyone else, but that always tickles me. If only other religions (aside from Islam) were willing to pull the same "your god isn't real and mine is, so nyah!" gambit on evangelists. I am sure heads would explode.
@Allegory for Jesus:
Actually, Muslims believe that the vast majority of religions come from the One True God. Islamic teaching accepts the divine origins of Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity, Zoroaster, Confucius and many others. Unfortunately, some Muslims are just retards.
That makes sense, since I believe that they regard Jesus as a prophet of some sort. And I suppose that the viewing of "Allah" as distinct from "God" only works in audiences that unaware that "Allah" means "God"...which I assume would leave out most Muslims. Sad. I would like to think that at least one group would be able to pull the same crap that they do, but I suppose I was mistaken...
Well, I was kind of hoping it was only combined to my school, but I knew that would be too good to be true.
I wonder if they just assumed everyone was gay, Buddhist, "worship false gods and believe in witchcraft", like my 'favorite' preacher did or if they at least asked first.
Oh, this answers my question *rolls eyes*:
"Another student, Tioni Tam Sing, 21, who was modestly dressed, said, "He doesn't know that I'm a Christian, but just because I'm wearing a sweater and jeans, he called me a sinner.""
I thought the whole point of evangelization is to convince people to join your religion/church/cult/whatever. Name calling and insulting passers-by doesn't seem like a good tactic.
Oh well, at least they're doing a good job discrediting themselves, so we don't have to.
I'd bet the farm that the Korean wasn't Buddhist and the Native Hawaiians didn't follow their ancestors' beliefs. But these "ministers" couldn't be bothered, to, um, get to know the people they were ministering to as individuals.
Well obviously if they're going to university in a Liberal state, they're not TRUE CHRISTIANS(TM).
Also, as a Buddhist, I'm sick of being told what the hell I believe. There is no god, life just is.
And I would like to add that Muslims believe that at the least, all monotheists are "saved". And a good bit extend this to Buddhism, Hinduism, Confucianism, and Taoism as well. Xtianity is the only religion that I know of that is so fucking exclusive.
I saw this on the news, and I cheered when the Uni students decided to give just as much back to the fundies as they dished out. As for the fundies shouting about the students they were worshiping false gods, and witchcraft, there is this part in the bible about bearing false witness. Maybe they should be reminded about that part.
All gods are false.
Next.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
