All Obama did was give its scientists more incentive to do their work in the US rather than consider taking an overseas contract in a country not run by religious loonies. Are you trying to suggest that stem cells can be obtained from those things, or are you trying to make a slippery slope argument? I really can't tell.
To be sure, stem cells come from unimplanted embryos at a very early stage in development. Allowing [government funding of, mind, it was never banned] embryonic stem cell research will not lead to late term abortions or euthanasia because they are completely different acts.
