My very humble opinion: States could secede and then govern themselves as per the Constitution. This would be a reaction to the a bevvy of Marxist liberals and RINO's we have destroying our nation at the present time. Said states could merge and form a new federal government as intended by our founders and govern themselves Constitutionally. Heck, our new federal capitol could have a massive granite Ten Commandments paid for with donations sitting on the front lawn of our new congress.

The framers of the Constitution of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA intended for people to form another country besides the USA? That's a big big big stretch, Stretch. Also, how could you apply the Constitution to the government of a seceded country? Can't have 'em both!

Considering that the Constitution is a document for the Federal government, the States would have a real hard time abiding by it on their own.

The problem is, if we're governing the nation Constitutionally, it sort of precludes the whole Ten Commandments on the federal capitol thingy.

Your opinion is more humble than admit. Back in the 1860s we had a war concerning states seceding and, as I remember, it was decided that states wouldn't be doing that anymore.

In short, you want to force democratic opinion to agree with you by restructuring the entire country so as to exclude anyone who would vote otherwise, and then have the infernal gall to call this "constitutional" behaviour.
Depending on the states seceding, I'd be willing to let this pass. First, however, I want to point out the hypocrisy here that made me giggle: they want to use the Constitution to sever themselves from the Constitution and then govern themselves with it after said severance.
Yeah, there's something about this plan that just...just seems so familiar. I can't quite put my finger on it, but I don't seem to recall it working out very well. What am I thinking of, dang it?
Although the Constitution does not have any explicit prohibition against secession, it is a ridiculous idea for a multitude of reasons, chief among them is that a seceded state would not get any federal grant money for roads, schools, etc. Thus, the "new" state would have to tax its residents into oblivion to sustain its infrastructure alone.
Maybe we just let them have their Commandments in schools and courts for five years, on the agreement that if violence or divorce rates ever rise, they obviously don't work and they have to be removed forever.

Okay, Sounds good to me. Any state that remained red after 8 years of the horrors of the W and Darth Vader administration has my best wishes to bugger off. It will be worth it just to remove the states that are the biggest drains on federal resources as well as to never have to be subjected to the scourges of the Red Neck "comedy" tour ever again on my dish network.
