Quote# 60844

I'm of the opinion that the large following Rand Shermer and Dawkins has is actually a subroup of mildly autistic people. Their excessive emotions, of blind loyalty and biting irrational defence of their media heroes makes them seem like angry children who want everytthing simple and black and white, though the world is technicolour as adults know. Have you come across this opinion anywhere? Any studies?

Distind, can you see the comments if I delete the quote? :P

Anyway, I'm of the opinion of just deleting submissions from YouTube and YahooAnswers.

Man, you haven't seen nothing.

Autism != excessive emotions.

Mattias!

AUTISM DOES NOT WORK THAT WAY!

3/25/2009 4:01:05 AM

That's not how autism works!
Nice description of fundies, though.

No. Possibly because it's, well, you know...retarded.

If they're autistic than you must have something far FAR worse.

No, but you've just given us our daily dose of irony.

Excessive emotions? Blind loyalty? Biting irrational defense?

Sounds like a fundie Christian to me...

Obvious troll is obvious.

YOU ARE A GROWN MAN WITH IMAGINARY FRIENDS

Nowonmai

Funny, your description fits fundies to a T.

3/25/2009 4:51:33 AM

You just described...yourself.

Congratulations. You've got no objective reasoning skills.

LOL, sounds kind of like the sort of thing you find on World Net Daily.

Mildly autistic: Misusing a medical term to slag off people who disagree with you, thereby also slandering people who suffer from the actual disorder - nice.
Excessive emotions: Er, revival tents, suicide bombers, sadistic fantasies of eternal torture, persecution complexes, you were saying?
Blind loyalty: How can you get any more blindly loyal than a fundie. Dedicating your life to an imagined entity who gives his followers precisely nothing, sounds pretty blindly loyal to me.
Biting irrational defence of their media heroes: Bush and Hovind, 'nuff said!
Angry children who want everything simple and black and white: Shiny mirror is shiny.
The world is technicolour: Who knew?

Please go back to the sandbox and play with your plastic Jesus now.

The quote, I mean. You gotta see what they say about liberals on World Net Daily. It's teh lulz.

3/25/2009 5:11:28 AM

Based on context this seems to be more CTSTDT than FSTDT. It's still pretty stupid though.

Just pulling crap out of your arse doesn't qualify it as a theory.

Someone doesn't understand what autism is. . . or how well she just described a certain group of other people. . . .

Nice opinion. Whether or not it is a valid opinion doesn't alter the fact that there is no God and the bible contains errors and is inconsistent.

Change the names, and 'autistic' to 'psychotic', and we have an accurate rendering of fundies.

Any studies?

No fundie would ever suggest such a thing.

My two youngest children both have autism and they have better critical thinking skills than you do, kimbo99.

Of coure, unlike you, they're at the high-functioning end of the spectrum.
