Quote# 60977

Final judgment by God and assigning people to Hell is not an act of hate, but love. I do not believe in a God of hate. When God ordered the Israelis to smash the heads of babies on the rocks and kill everyone in the Old Testament, I consider those acts of love, not hate.

God acts out love and just because his actions do not fit into my world view or align up to my sense of justice, I will continue to trust in the justice of God than any person.

"When God ordered the Israelis to smash the heads of babies on the rocks and kill everyone in the Old Testament, I consider those acts of love, not hate."

Gotta be a poe, c'mon seriously.

I hope it's a poe, if not, I sure as hell hope he never has children of his own to "love".

You basically said "Whee, I'm completely batshit!"

What if a human did such things that God does?
Would it be love? No, and it wasn't to begin with. Man, the Bible is so fucking awful, like a giant chain letter that everyone is scared to disobey and they believe everything it says without question.

If I bash your head in, will it be beacuse of my love for humanity? Wait, I don't have any. Do you know why?

3/28/2009 10:16:14 PM

I've seen this before. The when the Jews ethnically cleansed Canaan, God ordered them to smash the heads of their children, supposedly because there was no one to raise these children and they would grow up becoming more enemies of Israel.
But here's the thing: God did not order the Hebrews to win the hearts and minds of the Canaanites and were in the end forced into war. God ordered them to cleanse Canaan.
This is like me telling someone to break all of a horses legs, then I shot that horse and expect to be considered loving and merciful.

Mmm. Deep and abiding Christian love. Murder and eternal torture are indeed the hallmarks of a loving deity.

I really hope this is a Poe.
If someone can write something this insane and not see anything wrong with it I'll lose the last shred of my faith in humanity.

3/28/2009 10:40:00 PM

Yeah, and it was an "act of love" when my ex hit me, right? It was an "act of love" when he raped me? It was an "act of love" when he held a fucking knife to my throat? If that's "love," I don't want it!

Religion: Society's accepted form of insanity.

Nowadays, that kind of love will get you locked away for a very long time.

Tolpuddle Martyr

I loves ya so much I just wanna roast your flesh, sounds like a psychobilly song or the last words of a spree killer.

Either Tim is Poe or his parents continually smashed his head against a rock when he was an infant.

a mind far far away

I hope someone kills your family, and at the trial, when they say it wasn't an act of hate, but of love, that you make sure they're consigned to the death penalty. A god who sends it's creation to hell can in no way be a god of love, dumbass. No matter how much you think so, it doesn't make it true. It just shows how fucking stupid you are to believe it.

The Amazing Liarbird

I'm not sure if it's a poe or not... I've actually met christians that claimed to believe this.

God "loves" you like an abusive spouse.

@WMDKitty: Ok that was a little creepy, but you have every right to be mad.

3/29/2009 12:56:47 AM

Tim, can I kill you with fire please? Because I love you, you know.

The funny thing is: I am really God.

English motherfucker, DO YOU SPEAK IT?

You can't be for real. Calling infanticide an act of love? Please, be a Poe!

Spoken like a true bully

If it's not a poe, it's scary.

it's saying that, by definition, whatever God did is an act of love.

That makes the word 'love' so meaningless that it's, well, meaningless.

I do not believe in a God of hate. When God ordered the Israelis to smash the heads of babies on the rocks and kill everyone in the Old Testament, I consider those acts of love, not hate.

What a caring and loving god.

God was a bastard in the Old Testament. A couple of examples:

Like above mentioned, God tells Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac. Abraham is about to do so until an angel comes down in the nick of time to stop him. Basically, God said "I was joking! Just testing your faith."

Later, he promises all the descendants of Abraham will inherit a lot of land and power if he makes a covenant with God and have their kids circumcised. But to give him a heads up, his people will be later enslaved for like 300 years, but if they endure it, they will get that prize!

The list goes on and on.

3/29/2009 3:43:30 AM

You'll think the same thing then when someone comes after you with a rock, I hope. Saves all that pointless begging and crying.
