If more atheists get to legislating level in the US of A, the death penalty will probably be made illegal. As most atheists recognize that this life is the only life we get, it's more precious than anything. Thou shalt not kill! US of A is the only democracy in the world, to my knowledge, that still has the death penalty. China, Iran and Saudi Arabia, together with the US of A, performed 94 percent of the executions during 2005. Nice company!
