God bless the party of God. steele has come out and said what the vast majority of Americans believe and know to be the truth. God ordained marriage as between a man and a woman. adam and eve, not adam and steve.

God has blessed us with steele’s leadership. he is willing to stand up to the loud immoral minority who wish to promote perversion for their own sick and twisted agenda. this is the difference between the republicans and the democrat party. republicans are willing to take a stand on principle whilst the democrat party will bend which ever way the far left perverts agenda tells them to bend.

slavery was not a founding principle of our country. slavery was forced into the constitution by liberal slave owners in the southern states. the true conservatives of new england tried to block it, but were overwhelmed by the minority much as is happening now. discrimination was not written into our constitution. it was forced in by those who want to create victims because victims become liberals. remember that it was the conservative republican president lincoln who freed the slaves, not the liberal democrat party.

mark my words. this depression will continue to get worse and worse and worse until Americans rediscover the morality of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as expressed the the infallible Holy Bible. we must as a nation stand up to the perverts and their holocaust agenda to destroy Christians. we must stop the liberal socialists.

So it was taking a stand on principle when the whole Bin Ladin family was ushered out of the US after 9/11? The ones who actually might know where he was hiding.

I'm no expert on parties in the US, but can you really be liberal AND slave owner? This seems more to be a conservative trait, as people have owned slaves since before recorded history. It's now, in the last two centuries that this has been deemed inhuman. Conervative - keeping to the past. Liberal - freedom seekers. Get a dictionary and read up on a few words, m'kay.

Liberals are NOT socialists. From a European viewpoint it is often hard to see the difference between the Republicans and the Democrats. And not even all true socialists are atheists. Sweden has been run by socialists for most of the 20th century, and most Swedes still considers themselves as Christians. It was just recently that we separated the Church from the State, you in the US have had it like that since you formed the country.

I thought these people misspelled the word Saviour. But apparently the shorter, simpler version is American English. I learned British English in school.

So you didn´t read the bible where there are tons of passages concerning slavery, all of them passages that either regulate slavery (or give slaves advices how they should behave) or in which god orders citizens of conquered cities to be taken as slaves. You will find not one passage there that condemns slavery.
Even the newtestament only tells slaves to obey their owners, but has not one passage that talks about slavery being injust and that every human should be his own master.
No matter whether you call the slave owners from the southern states liberal or conservative, the fact remains that they used the bible to justify the practice of slavery.

There is not a single passage in the bible where it is claimed that Adam and Eve were married btw. ;)

No. Last I checked it was the religious reich who proposed discrimination and segregation for blacks in the 50's and 60's. The religious reich of Republicans.

This amazing fundie has actually got some history right! But then gets the rest wrong for the typical fundie fail.

Slavery was indeed written into the constitution, therefore it was a founding principle, just like the much-hated-by-you freedom of religion. The slave owners and Real Americans could not force the other side to back down so they had to compromise and wrote the 3/5 rule.

In those doays the Republicans were the millionaire big business party, while the Dems were the pro slavery party. After the civil war the south decided the the Republican party was the party of Satan and Lincoln was the head satanist. About a hundred years later the Democratic party started passing civil rights laws, which so enraged the fundies that they moved en masse to the republican party, making it the current Republic party of millionaires, fundies and racists, while the Democratic party is the party of Americans.

The terms "liberal" and "conservative" can be a bit fluid, and neither party at any given time has a true hold on either ideology.

Think about this: President Andrew Jackson, in his embracing of free market capitalism with little to no government intervention, was liberal in his day. Now that same platform would be deemed conservative.

It's not just in this country. The Russian Revolution was a victory of social liberals like Lenin. When they came into power and needed to maintain it, the same class of people (starting really with Stalin) became conservatives, so ultimately, some 75 years later, the likes of Yeltsin (not quite a capitalist but definitely not a communist) was the liberal one.
