God bless the party of God. steele has come out and said what the vast majority of Americans believe and know to be the truth. God ordained marriage as between a man and a woman. adam and eve, not adam and steve.
God has blessed us with steele’s leadership. he is willing to stand up to the loud immoral minority who wish to promote perversion for their own sick and twisted agenda. this is the difference between the republicans and the democrat party. republicans are willing to take a stand on principle whilst the democrat party will bend which ever way the far left perverts agenda tells them to bend.
slavery was not a founding principle of our country. slavery was forced into the constitution by liberal slave owners in the southern states. the true conservatives of new england tried to block it, but were overwhelmed by the minority much as is happening now. discrimination was not written into our constitution. it was forced in by those who want to create victims because victims become liberals. remember that it was the conservative republican president lincoln who freed the slaves, not the liberal democrat party.
mark my words. this depression will continue to get worse and worse and worse until Americans rediscover the morality of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as expressed the the infallible Holy Bible. we must as a nation stand up to the perverts and their holocaust agenda to destroy Christians. we must stop the liberal socialists.

I'm confused...what is this "Democrat" Party that I keep hearing about? I know that we have a DemocratIC Party, but I've never heard of this other group.
(For those whose detectors might be broken, /sarcasm. I know the whole "Democrat Party" thing is some mix of pejorative and ignorance.)
Liberal Southern Slave owners?
True conservatives of new england?
What?
While the southern parties in those days was indeed the Democratic party at the time they were Conservatives.
Likewise the Republicans were the Liberals. At some point the two parties switched.
There is still a small group of Conservative Democrats, but we don't really like them.
The liberal South.
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Oh my God and I was having a bad night, too! Tell you what, you pop in for a little visit in my conservative town in north Texas, sit through a school led prayer or two, count the dozen or so churches spread through a community of LESS THAN 6,000, and listen to the racist comments explaining that white we don't go around burning crosses, we're all the same here ,and then get back to me on the liberal South.
When I first read this, I kept thinking about Seele, from Evangelion. Did that ever have some interesting moments....
As for the actual quote... typical bullshit, with lulzy liberal south for... um, the lulz? >.>
So from your point of view, the ones who wanted to put an end to oppression of blacks were the conservatives, but the ones who want to put an end to oppression of gays are liberals? And stopping oppression is good if it's oppression of blacks, but bad if it's oppression of gays?
That is so ass-backward, I'm worried you're going to fall and break your tailbone.
Also, "Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve" is a meaningless political slogan. It does not make a cogent argument. The more you repeat it, the less effective it becomes at making your point, and the more effective it becomes at pissing off rational people.
"adam and eve, not adam and steve."
PROPER NAMES SHOULD START WITH CAPITALS!! HOW HARD IS THAT TO UNDERSTAND?!?
Wait, since when was slavery in the Constitution?, in which alternative bizarro universe does this guy live?. By the way, it was Adam and Eve, who came from his rib. Does it mean that you should marry your daughter?, just a thought.
I would just like to point out that , though Lincoln was a member of the Republican Party, he and his party were definitely not conservatives.
I think you confuse current politics with the situation in the 1800s.
A history book might be of help, Reg.
Further, I would be grateful if you would quote chapter and verse from your book where your god "ordained marriage as between a man and a woman." The actual verses, please, your interpretations of random verses do not count.
And marriage vows from religious ceremonies are not valid. They don't come from your bible either.
Grammar, learn some. Names are supposed to have a capital letter first.
So it was taking a stand on principle when the whole Bin Ladin family was ushered out of the US after 9/11? The ones who actually might know where he was hiding.
I'm no expert on parties in the US, but can you really be liberal AND slave owner? This seems more to be a conservative trait, as people have owned slaves since before recorded history. It's now, in the last two centuries that this has been deemed inhuman. Conervative - keeping to the past. Liberal - freedom seekers. Get a dictionary and read up on a few words, m'kay.
Liberals are NOT socialists. From a European viewpoint it is often hard to see the difference between the Republicans and the Democrats. And not even all true socialists are atheists. Sweden has been run by socialists for most of the 20th century, and most Swedes still considers themselves as Christians. It was just recently that we separated the Church from the State, you in the US have had it like that since you formed the country.
I thought these people misspelled the word Saviour. But apparently the shorter, simpler version is American English. I learned British English in school.
"Liberal slave owners"
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
First off, Steele originally said he supported gay rights, and then backpedaled when he got his current position and the right-wing tore him a new one for that statement.
Second, the Republicans were the liberals in the mid nineteenth century, not the Democrats. Even so, Lincoln was reluctant to free the slaves and only did so in the end because it was politically expedient. Read a history book. On second thought, your problem with English appears to be an emergency; you'd better work on that first.
Third, there's no such thing as the "Democrat" party. Another zombie drinking the Fox News Kool-Aid, I see.
The Party of God in Arabic is Hizbullah - normally transliterated *Arabic does not have an 'o') Hizbollah.
Just in case anyone was wondering about the name.
Can we assume their methods might be the same?
@#945777
>Wait, since when was slavery in the Constitution?
Article I Section 2.
"Representatives and direct Taxes shall be apportioned among the several States which may be included within this Union, according to their respective Numbers, which shall be determined by adding to the whole Number of free Persons, including those bound to Service for a Term of Years, and excluding Indians not taxed, three fifths of all other Persons."
Basically, the Constitution said that slaves only count as 3/5 of a person until the 14th Amendment was passed in 1868.
So remember kiddies when you see one of those protest signs that says:
GOD MADE ADAM AND EVE
NOT ADAM AND STEVE.
Walk up to the person, point at their sign, then ask, "Well which god made Adam and Steve then"?
Back on topic, this would be the same Chairman of the RNC Michael Steele who said in a GQ magazine interview that he did not believe that homosexuality was a choice?
"slavery was not a founding principle of our country. slavery was forced into the constitution by liberal slave owners in the southern states. the true conservatives of new england tried to block it, but were overwhelmed by the minority much as is happening now. discrimination was not written into our constitution. it was forced in by those who want to create victims because victims become liberals. remember that it was the conservative republican president lincoln who freed the slaves, not the liberal democrat party. "
Revisionism at it's finest.
The fact that the oh-so-conservative Southern Baptist Convention split from the more liberal North over the issue of slavery goes right over your head, doesn't it?
That's some revisionist history you've got there - Southerners were liberals, New England was full of conservatives.
@NonProphet , there really are people who believe that history works that way. I've talked to some of them. There is a massive movement out there to rewrite history to make it look like conservative, God-fearing Republicans stopped slavery.
"steele has come out and said what the vast majority of Americans believe and know to be the truth."
"depression will continue to get worse and worse and worse until Americans rediscover the morality of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ"
If the vast majority of American already believe in Jesus, how come the depression is still getting worse?

I have no idea if this idiot is a Poe or not. He started commenting about three months ago and only comments when the subject concerns gay marriage (though he hasn't been around for a while (which is (actually) kinda nice)). His view of history basically revolves around the idea that homosexuality causes depressions, revolutions and the fall of countries.
Again, no idea if he's a Poe. He leaves different email addresses (only one of which has been real and it was not him) and randomizes his internet ID, so who knows. If it is Poe, I worry for the commedians sanity. If not, I worry more.
liberal slave owners
fail.
So you didn´t read the bible where there are tons of passages concerning slavery, all of them passages that either regulate slavery (or give slaves advices how they should behave) or in which god orders citizens of conquered cities to be taken as slaves. You will find not one passage there that condemns slavery.
Even the newtestament only tells slaves to obey their owners, but has not one passage that talks about slavery being injust and that every human should be his own master.
No matter whether you call the slave owners from the southern states liberal or conservative, the fact remains that they used the bible to justify the practice of slavery.
There is not a single passage in the bible where it is claimed that Adam and Eve were married btw. ;)
[God ordained marriage as between a man and a woman. adam and eve, not adam and steve.]
Nice to see you come up with an original slogan. What about Madam and Eve?
[slavery was forced into the constitution by liberal slave owners in the southern states. the true conservatives of new england tried to block it, but were overwhelmed by the minority much as is happening now.]
Citation of a valid source please.
[discrimination was not written into our constitution. it was forced in by those who want to create victims because victims become liberals.]
No. Last I checked it was the religious reich who proposed discrimination and segregation for blacks in the 50's and 60's. The religious reich of Republicans .
[mark my words. this depression will continue to get worse and worse and worse until Americans rediscover the morality of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as expressed the the infallible Holy Bible. we must as a nation stand up to the perverts and their holocaust agenda to destroy Christians. we must stop the liberal socialists.]
Yes your infallible bible that endorses slavery. But wait, I thought you were against that!
"this depression will continue to get worse and worse and worse until Americans rediscover the morality of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as expressed the the infallible Holy Bible. we must as a nation stand up to the perverts and their holocaust agenda to destroy Christians. we must stop the liberal socialists."
Mark my words. This already happened with a liberal president 70 years ago. You fundies still havn't gotten over it. And now we will do it again.
For the non historians:
This amazing fundie has actually got some history right! But then gets the rest wrong for the typical fundie fail.
Slavery was indeed written into the constitution, therefore it was a founding principle, just like the much-hated-by-you freedom of religion. The slave owners and Real Americans could not force the other side to back down so they had to compromise and wrote the 3/5 rule.
In those doays the Republicans were the millionaire big business party, while the Dems were the pro slavery party. After the civil war the south decided the the Republican party was the party of Satan and Lincoln was the head satanist. About a hundred years later the Democratic party started passing civil rights laws, which so enraged the fundies that they moved en masse to the republican party, making it the current Republic party of millionaires, fundies and racists, while the Democratic party is the party of Americans.
slavery was forced into the constitution by liberal slave owners in the southern states. the true conservatives of new england tried to block it,
Wrong side of history, every time. You'd think they'd learn, but no--easier just to pretend up is down and black is white, afterwards.
"slavery was forced into the constitution by liberal slave owners in the southern states."
You've unwittingly discovered the problem of continually using one word (liberal) to define everything you hate. It makes you sound absurd.
The terms "liberal" and "conservative" can be a bit fluid, and neither party at any given time has a true hold on either ideology.
Think about this: President Andrew Jackson, in his embracing of free market capitalism with little to no government intervention, was liberal in his day. Now that same platform would be deemed conservative.
It's not just in this country. The Russian Revolution was a victory of social liberals like Lenin. When they came into power and needed to maintain it, the same class of people (starting really with Stalin) became conservatives, so ultimately, some 75 years later, the likes of Yeltsin (not quite a capitalist but definitely not a communist) was the liberal one.
Epic history fail. Seriously, crack a fucking book once in a while.
Liberal slave owners? Conservative New England?
You....oh fuck it, you won't go read it anyways. Just, seriously, read a fucking history book.
Hey, genius.
Lincoln was Republican, yes, but he STARTED the party. He was actually fairly liberal, as was the party at the time, while the Democratic party of the time was the more conservative one. The Dems shifted away from that image, since it was a rather negative one, and the Republicans decided to try and snap up the now-alienated conservative voters. They had some difficulty, of course; for a while, the South was adamantly Democratic, despite the Democrats not actually doing stuff they liked - anything to vote against the party of Lincoln - but they eventually realized that the Republicans served their interests better than the Democrats.
slavery was not a founding principle of our country. slavery was forced into the constitution by liberal slave owners in the southern states. the true conservatives of new england tried to block it, but were overwhelmed by the minority much as is happening now.
There is no facepalm image macro great enough to describe...
Paragraph 3 of this is BS. Liberals before conservatives? Liberalism was not very popular then, and the Southern slave owners belived God had created socond class humans to do their work. BTW, it was the Republicans, who were the liberals of the time, that got rid of slavery.
Also, in paragraph 3, "but were overwhelmed by the minority much as is happening now." Overwhelmed by the minority? Like the Republican Congressional minority blocking everything? What am I missing here?
Wait. What is Reginald missing here?
Wow. This person obviously doesn't follow the news much, because Michael Steele isn't a particularly beloved figure. And his points about slavery are revisionist history that badly distorts reality.
He obviously also has no idea what defines liberal or conservative. He apparently thinks they're synonyms for "bad" and "good" respectively.
I can't even be bothered to comment on the rest, but:
"slavery was forced into the constitution by liberal slave owners in the southern states."
Liberal slave owners?
Confused?
