Prostitution should be legalized. It's not ever going to go away, and right now far too many of the people involved in the trade are being exploited by their pimps with no legal recourse. If someone wants to fuck for money, it should be her/his right, and if someone doesn't want to, no one should be able to make him/her do it against his/her will.

Up until about forty years ago suicide was illegal in Canada, probably still is in some places. So let's see; you feel so depressed and miserable that you attempt suicide, someone comes along and saves you, and when you wake up in hospital you're slapped with a criminal charge. Well doesn't that just smarten you right up?! Yesiree, force them to be happy otherwise they go to jail! Hey, even better, hang the bastards!

If it's perfectly legal for people to cover themselves with tattoos, pierce any body part that can be pierced and dye their hare purple, it should be just as legal for them to fuck for money if they so desire. It is none of your godamned business if a) a woman is happy to rent out her vagina by the hour and b) if I or anyone else is happy to rent it by the hour.
Similarly, it's your life and you should be free to end it any time you want. I'm not advocating suicide as such, but rather the freedom to do it in the safe knowledge that if you fail you might actually get some real help instead of a counter-productive visit to the slammer. Would-be suicides need help, not jail time.
As far as I'm concerned religion is vastly more harmful than both - and it is legal.
