[Swedish Pagan: "... you shouldn't be able to force the man into being a father either. ..."
Agreed! We must stop the plague of women raping men and using their sperm against their will.
If only it were so easy as ... hmmm, I dunno ... oh, wait, here's an idea ... maybe men who don't want to be fathers could either keep their pants zipped or invest a few cents in male birth control. Just a thot.]
Here's a thought from a pro-choice female: If a woman doesn't want to be a mother, she should keep her legs closed, or invest a few dollars in female birth control.
Even as a generally man-hating female, I find your argument ridiculous, especially the reference to rape. If a man rapes a woman, chances are he's not going to give two fucks about whether she has an abortion or not, with an exceptions perhaps in the event of spousal rape.
For the most part, though, any man who would have an opinion on abortion had /consenting/ sex with a woman, and it is as much the woman's duty to prevent unwanted pregnancy as it is the man's. You can't say it's HIS responsibility to make sure YOU don't get pregnant; take some reproductive responsibility. And while yes, it is ultimately OUR choice to have an abortion, it' just in poor taste to disregard the feelings of the father.
Really, what's gotten into women? We spent so much time fighting for equality, and now suddenly we're trying to make men somehow below us. It's HIS responsibility to make sure WE don't pregnant, and if we do, it's HIS job to support the child post-birth, but he deserves no say in the prenatal welfare of the baby?
That's just cold.
