Honestly, I don't know whether to laugh or cry. BTW, JesusFreakGuy, there was a row in France a couple of years ago because churches of historical/tourist value such as Notre Dame WERE RECEIVING GOVERNMENT MONEY, which seemed to go against the seperationg of church and state that's written into French law. Other religious groups were upset about it.
I can't remember how it ended. I think they're still getting the money because of their cultural/historical status.

Which France is he talking about? The one I know, just across the English Channel from where I live, isn't a third world country nor do officers go around killing people. They might beat up English football fans but that's about it really.

The other day I went to Notre Dame because they were ordering priest an old friend I did in the States. It was crowded and the people didn´t seem very persecuted.

No-one will imprison you or kill you for being just like every-one else.
They might imprison you for stalking or disturbance of the peace if you proselytize too much, though.
But that has nothing to do with what religion you push onto people, it's the harassing that'll get you jail-time.
