Right, because up until my mother's generation women were never encouraged to study in these fields because they were only good for being housewives and making babies.
I have no doubt that in the coming decades we will see more brilliant female scientists emerging because they've finally been given an equal chance at the education and work.

Marie Curie (I guess that is who you are referring to) has been given more and more credit over the years for her and her husband's work. But she was credited in her time as well, two Nobel Prizes are not given to just anybody, you know.
