Pretty much all religions require the suspension of disbelief, as do they encourage that any glaring contradictions to what they teach, exposed by rational thought, be swept under the rug. I'm not referring just to the mainstream religions, but ALL of them. Equal opportunity distaste toward stupidity is just that, not "fundie atheism".

Finding out that you are closer to that which you mock than you thought is indeed uncomfortable. However, making shitty excuses to cover this fact does nothing to make the situation better. I for one am glad that even us FSTDTers are not above being called on our fundieness if and when it manifests itself.
