In fundie world, black is white, up is down, and atheism, sexual orientation, and scientific theories are religions yet Christians isn't. I can't count the number who have told me, "Christianity is not a religion -- it's the truth!"

George, being an idiot is a religion too. It is a belief system. They believe it is okay to paint anyone you disagree with as evil and motivated by religious dogma. Therefore it is a religious belief system, like mainstream Christianity and its slow brother, fundamentalist Christianity. They all suck, especially fundamentalism. Not hate just fact.

They've already covered that argument. A lot of them say that Christianity is not a religion but a personal relationship with Jesus. Jack Chick says it quite a bit.

By your defenition then there would have to be a religion for any and every act that anyone "believes" is ok. That's not the definition of religion, and it isn't going to change just because you say so.

I don't "believe" in evolution, i accept evolutionary theory as the best explanation currently available to explain the diversity of life. If a stronger, more viable theory with plenty of evidence behind it camealong then I would have no problem discarding evolutionary theory in favor of the newer one. That is most assuredly not the hallmark of a religion.

Not fact George, just ingnorance. You are projecting the thought-control of your fundamentalist version of religion, in which you are not allowed to question rigid dogma, onto everyone else. The rest of the world is capable of critical, independent thought, and can thus accept scientific fact, including the fact that sexual orientation is biologically determined, and not a "belief system".
