OK, where specifically does it say "America" in the Bible? Chapter and verse please or STFU!

What exactly is America if not the United States? Do you mean the continent of North and South America. That was certainly made by 'God' in as much as anything was made by God. But it's no different, no more Christian than any other piece of land.

Kick ass. Please gtfo out of the U.S then
5/29/2009 5:15:57 AM
"Kick ass. Please gtfo out of the U.S then "
That acronym means "get the fuck out". Let's expand.
"Kick ass. Please get the fuck out out of the U.S then "
(sorry for being so anal)

...uhh, okay. Alrighty then, thanks for clearing that up? o_O
5/29/2009 5:27:32 AM
Don't really see what's so fundie about this. So the guy thinks that the world and everything on it, including land formations, is created by god. Lacking in a scientific knowledge about the way the planet was created and subsequent plate techtonics? Yes. Fundie? Not really.
5/29/2009 5:32:09 AM
I guess hes technically right in the last paragraph if you believe god created the world, and America the two continents is different from the United States, but thats not what he means now is it. Hes talking about the whole christian nation thing.
5/29/2009 5:34:23 AM
"The United States as we know it today is a creation of a few clever men who wrote the Constitution of the United States."
Shouldn't that be "the creation of a few men who killed the original inhabitants & raped the land?"

If you read entries on the site they're way-out weird.
Putting aside the hatred of gays (what's new), they're busy saying they're not citizens of the world, issuing "EoH" documents e.g. passports, and a lot of other crap. No doubt it's a good money spinner since it's fleecing the gullible and terminally bewildered, but it is worrying that there are so many people who seem to live in an entirely different reality from the rest of us!

I just read the site. I find this guy a bit meh.
5/29/2009 5:59:23 AM
You know, I really can't say this is fundie. He admits the U.S. is secular, and draws a distinction between the state (the U.S.) and the nation (which he calls America). Most people in the U.S. are in fact Christian.
5/29/2009 6:08:22 AM
Then you go live in America and leave the rest of us United States citizens be.
5/29/2009 6:19:23 AM
Yeah, don't tell us what the paper itself says. Clearly it must have some good points if America really was founded by Christians, but we don't need to hear them. The title is all I need to hear to be convinced!
5/29/2009 6:23:06 AM
Well, the continent America isn't the same as the country USA, no. Good start. Don't ruin it.

I did a little further reading at the site. At least he admits that the US was not founded on xtianity. He actually quotes the Treaty of Tripoli to prove it. A fundy doing some research? Then I found this:
"The reason I say this is because, if the American people were truly Christian, they would not have a legislature of men making laws for the people. They would be free from manmade government and Jesus Christ would govern their activities by the New Covenant laws of God from within each individual, i.e., the laws of nature and nature's God."
So much for research. He falls back into the same arguments that Nature's God is a reference to sky-daddy or Junior. I guess he didn't do enough research to realize those are Deist concepts. It looks like Caleb wants to have a theocracy.
I also found this little gem:
"What difference does it make whether or not the United States is a Christian nation? If the U.S. is a Christian nation, we owe it our allegiance and support. But if it is not, then we must separate from it."
OK - then get the hell out of my America, you theocratic nut job. I hear the Taliban are really looking for new recruits. Buh-Bye

America is a place on a map named for an Italian explorer. So god must be italian...right?
5/29/2009 7:08:04 AM
5/29/2009 7:09:13 AM
America was created by several less-than clever men.
Who is this Jesus Christ the King?
5/29/2009 7:18:41 AM
Please get the hell out of my country.
5/29/2009 7:31:21 AM
If you believe Romans 13:1-7, you have to believe that God created every government.
5/29/2009 7:37:25 AM
And the source of your information is your ass. Amirite?
5/29/2009 7:45:01 AM
So, you fundies live in a shadow world of the US? Cool. So, can we stop legislating religion? You guys can do whatever you want down there, just leave the reality part to us!

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ the King.
I neither serve nor acknowledge a king. If I wished to do so then I would move to a country with a monarchy, I do not.
I have been given some material by a man who wants to convince me that the United States government is founded upon the Christian Religion.
You've been given some material by a con artist who wants you to send him things like your social security card, passport, driver's license, license plate, etc. In returen for those items, and a considerable sum of money, he will send you the "Kingdom of Heaven" equivalent. Of course if you keep those things then he wants to convince you that you will go to hell if you don't because you used "worldly things". Of course none of his "Kingdom of Heaven" flair will actually impart any benefits for they are not regognized by any government and could lead to many various arrests for fraud, driving without a license or registration, etc.
Telling a judge that it's ok for you to drive with just a "Kingdom of Heaven" license because some preacher on the internet says it's ok isn't going to fly in a court of law.
One of the papers he gave me is titled: "America founded by Christians?? You bet it was!!"
So we can now establish that this person is also a liar in addition to being an idiot.
Let me clarify this title.
Let me clue you in on something... Clarifying is supposed to make things esier to understand, not to confuse the issue even more.
America is not the United States
America is a creation of YHWH, God.
So why then did he see fit to only populate it with non-christian natives for all but the last 500 or so years? Natives who had their own "gods" and didn't have the slightest clue about yours, nor did they care.
The United States as we know it today is a creation of a few clever men who wrote the Constitution of the United States
People who have made a far better impact on the lives of americans than your "god" ever did. After all, what is religion besides equal parts wish fullfilment fantasy, revenge fantasy, and making yourself think that you are superior to "the heathen mases"
There is a difference between America, God's creation; and the United States, man's creation.
Ok, I'll bite... What is it? Do you even have a reason or do I have to wait for you to make one up?
You cannot link America with the United States
Yes you can. If for no other reason than that the latter sits on top of a quite sizable chunk of the former.
America belongs to God
Really now? I think i'd like to see your evidence. Oh yeah... that's right, all you have is assertions from an internet con-minister who can't even be botherd to twist scripture to try to make his point, But you still eat it up. I guess that's why it's called a "shit-eating grin".
the United States belongs to a few clever men.
Wrong again. America belongs to it's people, it's citizens. We have no autocracy or monarchy to give us permission to dwell here, nor do we need one.
