Well, if you've noticed, they (atheists) don't have anything to say. I mean what do you talk about, how smart and enlightened you are or how meaningless your existence is? It's always hilarious to see these people try to discredit over two hundred years of founding Christian principles in this country. They love to delude themselves in thinking that we could have made it this far with an atheistic society. You know those local charitable Atheist Chapters are just booming with giving, loving people!

No, quite the contrary. In one of our recent meetings we discussed the merger of the Secret Muslim Association with the Atheistic Baby Murderers Club. We also discussed the possibility of sending an invite to the Church Of Vinny The Invisible Vole, but that was scrapped when we learned of a doctrinal disagreement over Vinny's size. One side made the claim that Vinny is the same size as the common visible vole, the other side insisted that he is, approximately, the size of London. We decided that COVTIV is rather silly, and needless to say we didn't send the invitation. Next week we will be working on a device that turns cats into herrings for the sake of confounding the creationists. So you see atheists have many things to talk about.

No, I have not noticed that. People who talk about how smart and enlightened they are, soon talk to themselves, as that is a very booring subject. Our existence is not meaningless; we are here to interact with our fellow humans and animals, to assist each other in the pursuit of happiness, to build strong and humane societies together. Your existence must seem rather meaningless, as you only see it as an audition for the big performance in Heaven.

Charity is often done by those who see themselves as superior, and it is aimed towards those who they see as inferior to themselves. Atheists often see all humans as fairly equal, and will rather assist others than look down on them.

I personally think it is actively immoral to found any charity on the understanding that it is affiliated with any particular demographic.

The purpose of charity is to solve a problem - for instance delivering adequate food and clean water to people who don't have it, or modern medical care.

If you specifically claim that your charity is a Baptist one for example, you are limiting the number of people who will participate, thus diluting the effect you have.

Similarly, if someone started an atheist charity, the number of people who feel that they want to join it will be reduced. This all ultimately has a negative effect on the impact the charity can have, and their chances of solving the problem it set out to solve.

Do you care about the people you are trying to help, or do you think that charities are nothing more than an apologetics tool you can use to claim some kind of moral superiority over others?

If the former, I would suggest that all religious charities immediately become secular ones, so that everyone can get involved and the problems they set out to solve can actually be solved.

If the latter, then, as God said, go forth and multiply yourself.

No, we talk about books, movies, current events, our families, our vacations, our work and any other interesting subjects we can come up with.
You'd be surprised at what a wide variety of conversational topics people can come up with when their mind is not enslaved by a singular belief.

And it's equally hilarious to see you christians delude yourselves into believing that inserting the word "God" into a few documents back in the 50's really makes us a christian nation.

I've helped a friend with a fatal disease cope, visited elderly people in the nursing home, helped disabled people with their shopping and housework, participated in the Susan G. Komen breast cancer walk, helped raised funds for families of firefighters killed in the line of duty, mailed checks to the Red Cross after almost every natural disaster and terrorist attack, and helped a homeless family get back on their feet. What have you done? Send bibles to Uzbekistan?

Is it christian principle to hate the poor and the sick? If not, then why is your health care provision so piss-poor? Why do people, in a first world country, die because they can't afford vital drugs? Why are people forced into bankruptcy to pay the over-inflated costs of those who profit from others' misery? The insurance and drug companies in your country are worse than drug dealers. Is that what jesus taught, to ignore the plight of your fellow man, of those less fortunate than yourself?

If you really are a christian you should be out on the streets demonstrating against this iniquity, writing to your political representatives, voting for the party that promises to deliver a modicum of social justice. But, of course, you wont because you're wedded to a discredited dogma and have lost the ability to think for yourself.

Well for a start we have 13399994000 more years of history to talk about, plus we can discuss things like cosmology, biology, archaeology etc. without having to censor out the bits our pastor doesn't agree with.

Ooh, and sex, we can discuss a hell of a lot more about sex since what we're into is basically down to personal preference and not dictated to us by prudes who've been dead for thousands of years.

And we can talk to people of other beliefs without having to "witness" to them, or deride or insult them.

And then there's Harry Potter, Narnia, the Exorcist, Katie Perry and all those other books we can read and films we can see and music we can listen to because we haven't invented imaginary reasons not to.

Still, if you're happy with your mental diet of gruel, it's fine by me.

They don't want dialogue, not really. RRaptards have been disappointed time & again that whooshfest hasn't happened. they don't dare open themselves up to any kind of external threat or idea. That would probably push many of them over the theological edge and they would abandon their false theology.

That, or the dipwads know that opening themselves up to a group as found here would be like leading a ailing buffalo to a pack wolves - they know that in any reald debate they would have their a$$es handed to them.

Well, at the very least we talk about more important things than whether or not an invisible man in the sky approves of what we do or whether we're kissing his ass dutifully enough.

It was given a massive boost of 30 billion dollars by another atheist, or at least non-religious, by the name of Warren Buffet.

The two of them have done more than any mega church, possibly all of the mega churches, have ever done or could hope to do.

What you are doing here is essentialising atheists. You believe that everything atheists could possibly want to say must have to do with atheism. This in turn shows that you believe that atheists aren't actually fully human.

That's because everything they want to say revolved around the crapture and their made-up Republican Jesus. As I was told in private school, if "it" isn't glorifying god (it being dancing, music, fashion, TV, games, whatever) then you shouldn't be doing it/listening to it/watching it/wearing it. It's why they only listen to mind-numbing hymns and praise music, why they obssess over "modest" clothing (although there is certainly nothing modest about their egos, and their ideas about modesty fly out the window when it's the CATHLICKS calling for modest dress at mass), why they put tiny little sets of pants on their little replica statues of Michelangelo's David (yes one of them actually did that). Yes, they do think that atheists aren't fully human, because THEY aren't fully human any more. They actually HATE the planet Earth because the very notion of doing ANYTHING to improve the environment implies that they might not be getting their rapture get-out-of-life free ticket. They HATE any normal physical desire or activity that brings harmless pleasure. They HATE everything that makes them and us human; our wants, our needs, our thoughts, our desires, our lusts, our pleasures. They deny them all just for the opportunity to grovel at the feet of some demonic "god" for eternity, because the alternative is supposedly worse. Honesty any more I don't believe they have any humanity left, especially after reading what they had to say about torture and waterboarding.

Bill Gates is using most of his $50 Billion wealth to fund his Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. He's an Atheist.

Remember Matthew 19: 16-21:

Are you & your fundy ilk prepared to do exactly as your lord & saviour commands you to do as Christians are supposed to? Will YOU give everything you have to the poor? No? Then you will be as the aforementioned man, in verse 22:

22 When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth.

And you should be sad, for you have wasted your chance to join your master in the afterlife, because as vs. 23 & 24 state:

23 Then Jesus said to his disciples, "I tell you the truth, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.
24 Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."

There are Atheists I know who work for charities, giving of their spare time to help others. There's Atheists who donate blood so that others can live. I should know, I'm a blood donor. I'm not paid for such, nor do I know who is the recipient of my pint of life-giving essence. But I do so (along with others, wether they're religious or not), secure in the knowledge that I'm saving lives.

It's something called 'Committing acts of Gratuitous Kindness'. Being good for goodness' sake. A concept known as Humanism.
