All that such an action would do is unite the surrounding nations in a war that would see the destruction of Israel. The UN is unlikely to come to Israel's aid, and I doubt even the USA would want to act unilaterally in such circumstances. The most likely outcome would be nuclear war between Israel and Iran with the fallout killing pretty much everything in the region, it would be spookily peaceful in the Middle East if this were allowed to happen...
Fortunately, most people are civilized and live in civilized societies.
Equally fortunate is the fact that barbarism is no longer the general rule.

I wish that I would live to see the day that every mosque, temple, church, "sacred" grotto, etc. was turned into a museum, but bombing them while people cling to these superstitions is not the answer. It's part of the problem.
