That song was an obvious grab for popularity by controversy, and you fell for it, every step of the way. Having Christians decry something makes it incredibly popular with rebellious teens overnight.

Catcher in the Rye: Too many swears, inspiration for famous killers, protested by christians.
A Brave New World: decries religion and religious societies as "backward"
1984: Resembles Patriot Act and Aggressive interrogation too much :D
And so on...
Anyway, if you think the books she is reading are bad well then you should realise most classic literature is not exactly PG13. Also it's "English" class not "lets all worship classics". They often choose lesser known books so students can be more objective in their analysis of the text.

He's like 30, and seriously 15 is only just below the legal age of 16 (pretty much everywhere that's not the USA). Also the book is meant to be confronting and perhaps challenge a few delusions people have that this never happens. I know a few of Girls in my year who haven't been Virgins since they were 13.
Also if you think you're high school students have seen a boob or a penis yet then you're really deluding yourself. They did that before the internet and they're doing it now.
Sure they could pick better books, but this is a stupid ground to protest a book for a class on English in a university.

This could have been sage advice without the Caps lock. I don't know who the Dept of Education consults with but they could really improve the English curriculum if they asked actual students fresh out of High School what they thought. Parents should realise some of the garbage students are made to read, not to mention the ridiculous ways students are asked to analyze them.
