Mt? Sinai has been located in Saudi Arabia which, in that local, properly called Median. It's the largest Mt in the area. It is topped by obsidian, a melted rock. Apparently external heat was applied to the top of this mountain. It's called Jebel Al Lawz. It's proof that God's presence was on top of that mountain and melted it.

Mount Sinai rocks were formed in the late stage of the Arabian-Nubian Shield's (ANS) evolution. Mount Sinai displays a ring complex that consists of alkaline granites intruded into diverse rock types, including volcanics. The granites range in composition from syenogranite to alkali feldspar granite. The volcanic rocks are alkaline to peralkaline and they are represented by subaerial flows and eruptions and subvolcanic porphyry. Generally, the nature of the exposed rocks in Mount Sinai indicates that they originated from different depths. (M. G. Shahien, Geol. Dept., Beni Suef, Egypt)
nothing about obsidian. This biblethumper is so ignorant he never even looked up anything on the mountain, probably just heard this from some youth pastor and never dared question the 'fact'
It's proof that God's presence was on top of that mountain and melted it.
No it's not!
I could explain why that is, but you don't have the faculties to comprehend the explanation.
(1) The modern Mt. Sinai isn't topped by obsidian.
(2) The modern Mt. Sinai isn't necessarily the site of the Bible's meeting of Moses and God.
(3) Nothing in the Bible remotely suggests that God melted rocks with His burning bush.
(4) If God burned hot enough to melt the rocks of Mt. Sinai extensively, why didn't the heat kill Moses?
Stop making shit up that isn't in the Bible.

QUICK! Before you eat those Doritos ... check if the almighty has put a picture of any of the holy family on them. Virgin Mom, Jesus, his brother Jimmy, Tony the talking Wonder Donkey. The righteous may wish to take up a hell of a collection on eBay. Otherwise, if you eat a Jesus one it might turn you catholic.
I think he could be refering to this:
The Song of Deborah, which textual scholars consider to be one of the oldest parts of the bible, suggests that Yahweh dwelt at Mount Seir, so many scholars favour a location in Nabatea (modern Arabia). Alternatively, the biblical descriptions of Sinai can be interpreted as describing a volcano, and so a small number of scholars have considered equating Sinai with locations in northwestern Saudi Arabia; there are no volcanoes in the Sinai Peninsula.

Still full of fail though.
this is pretty scary because it is a perfect example of the delusional fundie mind. no matter what evidence reality is rolling out for these dimwits, they will always find a way to twist things to fit their insane worldview. i guess my point is, there is no reasoning with these people because they've willingly thrown reason out the window.
I stopped reading your demented little rant at this point:
"Mt? Sinai has been located in Saudi Arabia..."
Wrong. Mount Sinai is in Egypt, not Saudi Arabia. I knew that when I was in third grade. If you're so stupid that you don't know where Mt. Sinai is, I'm not going to waste my time reading your nonsense.
And isn't heat the devil's tool? Screw you, it was once underground (or below sea level even) and has been pushed up by geological forces.
Here's how we know: Geologists can tell you how it happens, why it happens, how they know and where it fuckin' is!
Obsidian is a volcanic glass that forms when molten rock cools very quickly, like on contact with water, so that no crystals can form at all. This happens in Hawaii, when lava flows from Kilauea reach the sea. It would not surprise me if volcanic activity occured at one time in the Sinai. It's part of the Great Rift Valley, which streches from the Jordan Valley through the Red Sea to the East African Great Lakes. Some areas experience volcanism, like Mt. Kenya and Mt. Kilimanjaro, as do hot spots in other rift zones, like Iceland.
You mean it got lost?
How careless of Moses! I AM will be displeased!
I suppose it's understandable, though. They lost the Ark of the Covenant too, and I AM never bothered to save his temple from the Romans.
Anyway, if Sinai is in Arabia, it means that Moses got really lost himself; and it's a sure indication that God thinks the Arabs are on the right lines with Islam!
"It is topped by obsidian, a melted rock...proof that God's presence was on top of that mountain and melted it."
God sure must spend a lot of time in my home state of California: we have obsidian all over the place in the valleys east of the Sierras. And here I thought it was due to their coincidence with recent volcanic fields...
*sigh* and if the obsidian wasnt up there you would say the Bibles word is good enough evidence. Honestly, why must you try so hard.. you stand behind supernaturalism, just say you can feel the spirit there and thats all you need.
Confused?
