The first bit is partially true. The main problem with embryonic stem cells is that they often turn cancerous, which is why adult stem cells are a more realistic option right now. [See Khademhosseini, Langer and Vacanti (2009, May)"Progress in Tissue Engineering." Scientific American, 300(5), 60, among numerous other articles from the magazine, for more details.]
Obama does want to use embryonic stem cells, but major research has to be done before they can be used. That's what Obama's doing - he's providing funding so that it becomes a viable option in the future.
So no, he doesn't want them to contract cancer. That is a logical conclusion only in your twisted mind.

An intresting use of logic, by Freepers, to try to justify their hatred of the current President, who apparently has earned it, by allowing the State to fund such research, unlike the previous incumbent, who effectively, did nothing in order to placate the Xtian Right-wing, & as a result, allowed U.S Biotechnology to fall at least 5 years behind the rest of the world, in this field...
I can imagine a Fundie using the same logic, to prove that Obama wants to kill babies...
For example
Premise 1) Embryonic Stem Cells are harvested from dead babies...
Premise 2) President Obama wants embroynic stem cells used...
Conclusion) Therefore President Obama is a baby murderer...
