Quote# 6367

... [in Mel Gibson's the Passion] King Herod was very pagan and Roman, which is right to connect with satan, and particularly right in light of the horrible roman myth system also in contrast of the time... the drinking and revelry of Herod reminded me of dionysus/bacchus, the god of a lot of power, intoxication, and irrational thought.

Dionysus was the Greek god of revelry, wine, and theatre. Essentially sex, drugs, and rock n roll in ancient Greece.

"very pagan and Roman, which is right to connect with satan, "

Unless you know anything about different Pagan faiths

Proof that those on Ruptured Retards - certainly most Christains - have never actually read their Bible.

King Herod in The Passion is a serious character overhaul from King Herod in the Bible. Accurate my ass.

And what does Mel Gibson boozing and Anti- Semitism tell you?

They can portray him any way they like.

I cannot believe that I have to explain this to people. You'd think they'd never heard of Hollywood.

You do realise that your fundie equivalent of the "Saw" & "Hostel" series: 'Torture Porn' was directed by a devout Catholic, do you not...?!

...or are the RCC & it's cultic doctrines okay: when they - also it's followers - suit you, o Ruptured Retards? Because perish the thought - and thus your souls - that the self-realisation would set in that yours is just another of those Modern Cults & Religions; you, who are nothing more than a post-Millerite group a la the Jehovah's Witlesses: a cult that ended with the Great Disappointment in 1844.

But then you PINOs - Protestants In Name Only - are trying your damnest to out-Catholicise the Catholics, so no wonder. I bet Donald Fart's choice of VP didn't stop you late last year, eh? Mike Penis being a Catholic.

Herod's depiction was not at all in line with Biblical account. Kind of a big thing for a movie that advertised itself as being Biblically accurate. It was also one-dimensional and added nothing to the narrative. It was just there to be token and insulting. Have I mentioned I hate that movie? Well I do. The Passion was shit. It made Apocalypto look tolerable. Even discounting anti-Semitism it's a complete fucking mess from a story perspective.

The movie had no redeeming qualities as far as I'm concerned and the effect it had on Christian viewers boggles my mind.
