Now this is just getting pathetic. You and I both know teaching evolution isn't responsible for violence amongst the youth. Stop being dishonest and come up with legitimate criticism of evolution, and if you can't do that, shut the fuck up. Trust me, you'll be doing yourself and everyone else a favor.
Even as a Christian, I have to say that this is just pitiful. No wonder creationism has lost all the respect of legitimate scientists.
For the record, there are plenty of terrible role models in the Bible too. Imagine if our children started imitating Samson, Joshua, or Samuel!
The teaching of evolution has nothing to do with school violence. Period.

They all have the same ideologies and they're all of the same spectrum:
Take something they don't like, and scapegoat it for all of society's ills and evils, especially school shootings and terrorist acts, all while covering up what's really to blame.
What they are not telling you is, that little cartoon guy is a Republican and a Christian.
(A joke, I'm actually aware of decent Republicans/Christians out there).
How childish can these people get? Is there no end to their stupidity?
Who said we are violent cave men? Who said the cave men were violent? Who said apes are or where violent?
Who said people in the Bible were violent?
The Bible itself.
Who said much violence has been done in the name of Christ or God?
Current news, History, and the Bible.
We people are the single most violent creatures on Earth. We are small and vulnerable, with no fangs or claws or horns, but we dominate the world anyway. We kill for the fun of it, most other species only kill for food or to protect their territory.
Every deployment of nuclear weapons was/is/and will (fingers crossed that that never happens) be made by people who believe in nuclear fission/fusion.
In fact, every murder committed since Newton believed that things are subject to gravity.
Wanna make a cartoon about them?
So why is it any less true to say...

Is thinking you're an "avenging angel" when you pull a trigger somehow better than thinking you're the alpha male in the "Clan of the Cave Bear" then? If I think "in my heart" that I'm an instrument of divine justice when I go on a shooting spree, wouldn't that proverb imply that I am one? Besides, the rollcall of people who've used God and the bible to justify being a-holes is not exactly insignificant, so an "appeal to consequences" isn't quite on AiG's side in this.
It also quite undoes Ken Ham's comments, quoted elsewhere on FSTDT, that they are merely presenting both 'scientific' views. What use evolutionary theory is put to does not make it one whit more wrong. Quite the opposite, the application of evolution to medicine has been incredibly successful, certainly more so than intercessionary prayer.
Science saves lives. Anti-science endangers them.
No. Just no.
That verse is probably referring to something else entirely, which would be based on HUMAN sociality, and obviously has been going on at least since proverbs was written, likely much, much longer.

For as a man thinketh in his heart that he has divine right or that God favors him or his beliefs over others, such is how any atrocity, no matter how sadistic or cruel, can be justified. Lessons from History 1:01
You know, I don't get why you think I should take your religion seriously when you don't even take it seriously yourself. I distinctly recall a commandment which said "you shall not bear false witness against your neighbor," which everyone told me was a fancy way of saying "you shall not lie." I also remember that breaking a commandment was a mortal sin. Yet, Christian fundies lie CONSTANTLY AND CONSISTENTLY, especially around such topics as evolution and homosexuality. So next time you come around telling me that I'm going to hell for not believing in your god, don't be scandalized when I point out the above and tell you that the same thing's going to happen to you. Only maybe you'll actually be scared by the threat, since you're the only one who believes there even is a hell.
Sigh, even if it could be proved that belief in evolution made people violent, that wouldn't make evolutionism any more or less true. It's like saying Nazis don't exist because they killed people (That's right, I invoked OPPOSITE GODWIN somehow).
Also, read some of the other comics, AiG is so intolerant of any evolutionists, even ones who are also Christians.
You know, two lines later it says "Speak not in the ears of a fool: for he will despise the wisdom of thy words."
And AiG are certainly fools.
How come secular nations who teach evolution, like those in Europe, have next-to-no school shootings? You may not be aware, but school shootings is very much a U.S. phenomonen. I'd say the explanation lies elsewhere than in the teaching of evolution.
I'd much rather associate with the primates. Gorillas, bonobos, and neanderthals show/showed a lot more morality than the devout faithful who go on shooting sprees because they claim God told them to.
Yeah thinking you've evolved from apes is so degrading.
If only I thought I was the descendant of a piece of dirt, a rib and a lot of incest.
And they accuse us of quote mining...
23:6 Eat thou not the bread of him that hath an evil eye, neither desire thou his dainty meats:
23:7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.
23:8 The morsel which thou hast eaten shalt thou vomit up, and lose thy sweet words.
Could AIG please explain what the fuck that has to do with evolution?

School shootings have a protection of imformation released happening. We never hear how these children have been raised and the fundies always use this to claim non-christian upbringing. I suspect this to be the opposite.
Who promotes might over right and total access to guns? It's like they know they always need an artificial advantage

I'm thinking of wielding a magical staff, and using magical cards to do amazing things. So why aren't I a little girl named Sakura Kinomoto, wearing a cute outfit, and holding the Key Staff, hmmmm?
Just as the above not happening, thus the book that quote appears in is nothing but fiction. Coincidence?
"There is no such thing as coincidence in this world. There is only Hitsuzen (Necessity)"
-Yuuko the Dimensional Witch, "xxxHOLiC" (a manga created by CLAMP, as is "CardCaptor Sakura")
Confused?
