And where are the writings that say Frodo did NOT go to Mordor and simply throwing the ring into the ocean?
That's right people, Frodo really did go to Mordor. Owned.
Ummm... because someone not being resurected was normal? Because no one claimed he was resurrected until all the eyewitnesses were safely dead?
I mean, imagine the news ticker...
"No earthquake in Jerusalem today, film at eleven!"
"Man executed, buried, doesn't get back up, next on Geraldo!"
"In other news, today nobody was seen speaking in tongues."
The bishops of Constantine's day suppressed the gospels of Phillip, Mary, Thomas, Judas, John, and others. Those gospels in the canon were either cut-and-pasted or strained through someone's sphincter.
Celsus was a second-century atheist, close enough.
It's hard to find good texts in the ashes of the Alexandria library.
You got to have a market or you're writting for fun. Weren't too many joke books back then. Only one survived.
Knock, Knock.
Who's there?
God
God who?
God unleashed his rightous fury upon them, and they were smote, as smote can be. He hadn't smote that much in a long time.
See? very bad. hardly any copies made
You mean except those tons of documents existing from era, that tells about things that did indeed happen? Like we know of a Julius Caesar. But we do not if he was indeed a werewolf. The texts doesn't mention him not being a werewolf.
And just to clarify..
where is the account of the first century atheist who saw Christ die and NOT be resurrected?
Nobody has actually seen jesus christ outside the bible.
where are the writings of the atheists who say the apostles never existed?
N13E57 where it lays with the text of the blueoneeyedunicorn and the earlier and bigger version of the Loch Ness monster. They never observed any apostles, therefore no reason too write about something that doesn't exist.. Except your bible that is
the miracles never happened?
Once again, when nothing happens why write about it.
Well I guess you get the point.
You mean the people from Jesus time and place that didn't convert to Christianity due to his lifeand death?
Ummmm, aren't they still called "Jews?"
I'd love to read that book.
Dear diary, it's me again, today noone rose from the dead...again. I'll be back to report on any dead rising events tommorrow, oh and there also wasn't anyone who built a giant arc to ride out a flood either, just so you know, oh and definitely no pregnant virgins, nope none of those, not today.
Some quotes which one might see as atheist:
"Religion is viewed by the people as true, by the wise as false, and by the rulers as useful"
(Seneca, 1st Century)
"Whilst human kind
Throughout the lands lay miserably crushed
Before all eyes beneath Religionwho
Would show her head along the region skies,
Glowering on mortals with her hideous face
A Greek it was who first opposing dared
Raise mortal eyes that terror to withstand,
Whom nor the fame of Gods nor lightning's stroke
Nor threatening thunder of the ominous sky
Abashed; but rather chafed to angry zest
His dauntless heart to be the first to rend
The crossbars at the gates of Nature old.
And thus his will and hardy wisdom won;"
(Titus Lucretius, "Of the Nature of Things, 1st century BC)
"In this subject of the nature of the gods the first question is: do the gods exist or do they not? It is difficult, you will say, to deny that they exist. I would agree, if we were arguing the matter in a public assembly, but in a private discussion of this kind it is perfectly easy to do so."
(Cicero)
These writings survived.
That there is no material of atheists explicitly denying the Christian God in the 1st century is easily explained: Christianity was nothing but a strange, pathetic tiny sect of weirdos at that time. Unworthy of intellectual discussion.
“Live a good life. If there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones.”
Marcus Aurelius, c. 170 CE
Perhaps not atheistic as we would use the term, but certainly agnostic.
and lo, today the FSM did NOT come unto the multitude. Meither did Cthulu and his horde.
People tend to write about what did happen , an not about what did not. Where are all the acounts outside the Bible about Jesus, or any other major biblical event. ?
> Where are the 1st Century atheists?
Probably executed because some dictator felt threatened.
> where is the account of the first century atheist who saw Christ die and NOT be resurrected?
Where is a legitimate account of someone who saw Christ be resurrected in the first place?
> where are the writings of the atheists who say the apostles never existed?
The apostles might have existed, but they were either delusional or were liars.
> the miracles never happened?
Nope. They are myths.
> where is the writing that said there was NO big earthquake?..
Big earthquakes happen all the time.
It's important to note that the Bible also says the sun blacked out when Jesus died. People across the world would have seen this and noted it.
> were all the denials lost in the sands of time? the gospels survived..why not all the denials?
Because the gospels were written by delusional people/liars, so no one felt the need to refute them, because they 1. believed in a different god (i.e. the pre-Catholic Romans) or 2. they didn't buy the stories about Jesus being God (i.e. most of the Jews).
Caravaka is an atheist/materialist school of thought from India. It is believed to date to the 6th century BCE. The school of Epicureanism was founded in 307 BCE. It promoted a materialistic worldview which discounted the role of divine intervention. Furthermore, we have traces of apocryphal gospels which promoted Gnosticism, Marcionism and other competing Christian views. Among said views are denial of the humanity of Christ and strong distinctions between the Father of Christ and the god of the Old Testament.
Any other questions mead?

An asteroid did NOT hit Pasadena today, Hawaii was NOT destroyed by a tidal wave, Mothra and the tiny women were NOT see in or near Tokyo.
Do you see how stupid that is ?
Then there's also the various accounts of the unbelievers and heathens in this book called the Bible, both testaments. The churchs campaigns to terrorize those into the fold (or to kill them) starting shortly after the foundation of Christianity and continuing to this day.
I'm pretty sure the denials have always been there, for anything that's ever been claimed.
Well the bible, and Christianity, were created after the fact, If I remember correctly. This is like if I asked you ten years in the future why you didn't know exactly what the next big book craze (twilight, 50 shades, etc.) would be, and why you didn't write a review for it when it hadn't even been written yet.
Confused?
