First off, NO IT DOES NOT SAY THAT ANYWHERE.
You have never read the Quran, and you are taking the few passages where it says its fine to kill someone out of context. Self Defense is the only time we Muslims are ever EVER alowed to kill someone.
It also says to Kill Jews. It does.
Now, I want to get one thing straight, here. Just because a fundie says something, doesn't make it wrong! So much for you lot being rational and perceptive.
It saystto prtect Jews and also to kill them- it's called a contradiction! Can you say that? Con-tra-dic-tion!
Whatever, the point is it could be interpreted either way, which is dangerous. It also does happen, as we know from Abu Hamza, Osama, the Iranian President, Hamas, etc. etc. etc.
So fuck up, buck up, and listen!
Exodus 35:2
"For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day shall be your holy day, a Sabbath of rest to the LORD. Whoever does any work on it must be put to death."
Deuteronomy 21:18-21
"If someone has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey his father and mother, who does not heed them when they discipline him, then his father and his mother shall take hold of him and bring him out to the elders of his town at the gate of that place. They shall say to the elders of his town, This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious. He will not obey us. He is a glutton and a drunkard.’ Then all the men of the town shall stone him to death. So you shall purge the evil from your midst; and all Israel will hear, and be afraid."
Leviticus 20:13
"If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall be put to death; their blood is upon them."
Seems like the Quran isn't the only book that advocates killing.
The Qur'an says, "When they have persecuted you and driven you out of your land, hunt them and kill them wherever you find them." In other parts, it excludes the elderly, women, and children from this. It's basically giving permission for Muslims to war on people who war on them.
For some reason, people like to just grab the "hunt them and kill them wherever you find them" part.
Context. It's what's for dinner.
"[5.18] And the Jews and the Christians say: We are the sons of Allah and His beloved ones. Say: Why does He then chastise you for your faults? Nay, you are mortals from among those whom He has created, He forgives whom He pleases and chastises whom He pleases; and Allah's is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, and to Him is the eventual coming."
From what I've read of the Koran, it seems like the best-written of the three books of the religions of Abraham. I don't have any harsh feelings towards it, unlike the Bible, which you people have educated me well why to shun.
But personally, I'm a pagan.
Confused?
