> The soul comes from God and God only.
Which is why one shouldn't reproduce, as that clearly takes two humans to do. The only thing that is truly godly is the miracle of virgin birth!
Right? Same logic.

The clone would fight off the demons with the power of the force. Problem solved.

IF we were able to pull it off? It's possible to clone humans right now. After all, other mammals have already been successfully cloned, so I can't see any reason why humans couldn't be. Except that it's illegal to clone humans, but there isn't any other reason why it couldn't be done.
As for the soul bullshit.....show me some evidence. Even the Bible says nothing about clone souls (that couldn't of course be because it was written by Bronze Age goatherders thousands of years before the concept of cloning was invented). So basically, you're pulling all of this out of your own arse.

Some day, there will be human beings whom fundies call empty shells. Like FSTDT isn't big enough already.

@Drax: Not only it's illegal, but failure rate is too high. More than 200 greatly malformed clones to get one Dolly. 86:1=failed:sucesfull to clone a calf. It's immoral to create (on purpose) a human being that will live in terrible pain and suffer horrible diseases. 86+ of them, to be precise.

Huh? What makes a human human is the DNA, the unique sequence that in nucleid acid spell homo sapiens sapiens.
If the human soul is akin to the human mind, a solless human would be a prime picking for fundies...
Have the presence of a soul been proven in any way? What makes us humans a bit special, is our large brains and our capacity to think abstractly and in many different directions at the same time (some of us, at least).
Animals are just as alive as we are, they are just as personal or individual as we are. Anyone who has had a cat or a dog can testify to that.

@Clown: Thanks, that makes a lot of sense....I wasn't meaning to suggest that it would be a good idea to clone humans though, just that the technology exists.

This proves that these people would be hopelessly lost in the plot of movies like Ghost in the Shell and Blade Runner.
Tell me, if they clone a human and he behaves just like regular humans, how can you tell the difference?

I'm not sure that the "soul" exists as Christians would define it, but I do believe in sentience, self-awareness, and a stable, living mind that can be destroyed. If a clone has just the same sort of mind as his/her original, what would stop them from having that same self-awareness and sentience? And if they do, then they deserve the same rights as everyone else.
Even robots would deserve the same rights as humans if they could be considered sentient and responsible enough to exercise said rights without violating the rights of others. Funny how many humans don't even get that yet!

There's no evidence for the existence of a soul.
There is, however, evidence that cloned animals live breathe and everything just fine.

Now all you people have to do is stop opposing research on cloning so we can try it and see if you are right about human clones being "empty shells", if you are right you'd probably get a lot of converts if we tested it and found that out.

Yes, we all know that a soul enters an egg 1 millisecond after a sperm fertilizes it. It's true because I read it on a fundie website.

So, if there is such a thing as a soul, God couldn't give one to a clone?
Once again, Rapture Ready's world view limits the God they claim is all powerful.

So god couldn't put a soul into one of them, but the devil could install a demon, no sweat. In a heartbeat or less.
Got it. That devil, he's my guy.

So when human clones are ubiquitous, instead of giving them the same rights as everyone else, you're going to go on a witch-hunt and assume they're all possessed?
You sick, sick excuse for a sentient.
