There is a simple nonviolent solution to the Palestinian terrorism problem. Consider the following question: Can terrorists or potential terrorists be fit parents? Think about it. Think about all the ramifications of the obvious NO answer.

So here is what should be done.

1) Every year, all noncitizen residents of Israel, including those on the controlled territories, undergo a psychotest. This is nothing new, many Israelis do that routinely when applying for a job. Only this psychotest will test for one's propensity to commit terrorist acts.

2) Naturally, any person found to have a propensity to commit terrorist acts cannot be a fit parent. So the only humane step the Israeli government can take is to save the children of (potential) terrorists and remove them families that teach them to become suicide bombers.

3) The saved children should then be raised as loyal Israeli citizens. Of course, they will be a heavy financial burden on the Israeli society, but isn't a lasting peace and security worth a little bit of expense and effort?

4) My Israeli friends tell me that there is a special subject in their schools called "Moledet", which means "Homeland". That is the subject the saved children will need to learn first and foremost and excel in it.

The only losers here are terrorist child abusers. Everybody else wins. No amount of pressure, however strong, should stop the Israeli government from saving the children of the (potential) terrorists, because it is on the highest moral ground here. This strategy must be implemented urgently. You may have seen a recent news story about a Palestinian family violently hanging their own child on a mere suspicion of helping Israelis. Thou shalt not kill. We must save Palestinian children from terrorist upbringing before they, too, become suicide bombers and cause more death and destruction.

How about this concept?

1) Every year, all citizens of the United States undergo a psychotest (sic). Only this psychotest (sic) will test for one's propensity to become a Fundamentalist Christian.

2) Naturally, any person found to have a propensity toward Fundamentalist Christianity cannot be a fit parent. So the only humane step the American government can take is to save the children of (potential) fundamentalists and remove them.

3) The saved children should then be raised as secular humanists. Of course, they will be a heavy financial burden on American society, but isn't a lasting peace and security worth a little bit of expense and effort?

4) My American friends tell me that there used to be a special subject in their schools called "Civics", which taught them about their government and Constitution. That is the subject the saved children will need to learn first and foremost and excel in it.

The only losers here are Christian Fundamentalists. Everybody else wins. No amount of pressure, however strong, should stop the American government from saving the children of the (potential) fundamentalists, because it is on the highest moral ground here. This strategy must be implemented urgently.

2) Naturally, any person found to have a propensity to fundamentalist religion cannot be a fit parent. So the only humane step the American government can take is to save the children of (potential) terrorists and remove them families that teach them to become christoterrorists.

3) The saved children should then be raised as loyal American citizens. Of course, they will be a heavy financial burden on the American society, but isn't a lasting peace and security worth a little bit of expense and effort?

4) My friends tell me that there is a special feature of American government called citizenship. That is the subject the saved children will need to learn first and foremost and excel in it.
And fundemalists' teachings are against citizenship, particularly the concept of being a knowledgeable, well-educated person in order to participate rationally in a democracy.

The only losers here are fundamentalist child abusers. Everybody else wins. There's a difference between the propensity to commit an act and doing the act itself. There's this wonder concept called self-control. Try it sometime.

So we've made the leap from potential terrorist, to terrorist, to terrorist child abuser. You could win the gold in the triple jump at the Olympics with that one.

There's a better way to save Palestinian children (and, for that matter, Israeli children as well) from a terrorist upbringing: STOP DEMONIZING THE OPPONENT GODDAMMIT!

Children in Palestinian and Israeli schools are taught to hate each other from an early age. They're told that the other doesn't have a right to exist, that they are in violation of the other's religious beliefs, and that they are practically non-human. That doesn't foster any kind of peace, only hatred and death. I'm not even going into the "holy land" debacle because even that could be avoided if people weren't such assholes and didn't teach their children hatred from the start of their lives.

There are only two possible outcomes here. The first is that people wise up and start teaching their kids to respect those that may not agree with them, which would lead to at the very least a peaceful coexistence. The second is that this crap continues and eventually the Palestinians and Israelis pretty much exterminate each other. The few people left will wail and bemoan the fates of their countrymen and wonder why this happened, ignoring the very obvious facts that have been standing in front of them for decades that they have willfully turned a blind eye to. No one wants that. Stop the madness before it's too late.
