"they might not even have souls!"
And how would we, or even you, be able to tell the difference?
7/16/2009 5:33:10 AM
I've done some research before. not on this per-sey (sic)
7/16/2009 5:33:18 AM
I'm not convinced YOU think like a human.

Fundy Word Redefinition Project:
research, n. baseless speculation
7/16/2009 5:39:24 AM
Pulling bullshit assumptions out of your ass is not research.
7/16/2009 5:46:32 AM
We already have things that don't act or think human - they're called christians.
7/16/2009 5:55:16 AM
You should be thrilled, it could give you another group to demonize and oppress!
7/16/2009 5:56:42 AM
oops, double posted
7/16/2009 5:57:44 AM
Human clones already exist, we call them 'identical twins'. Do they seem to behave any different to anyone else to you?
7/16/2009 6:08:19 AM
A post from 'Travelling Through' in that thread made me laugh:There is no such word as sacreligious to scientists.
Er, there's no such word as 'sacreligious', full stop.
7/16/2009 6:21:53 AM
they might have to be 'programmed' like 'clones'
So why aren't you people jumping for joy at the idea of an army of unquestioning sheep at your command?
You're right about one thing, though; they won't have souls. Just like everyone else.
7/16/2009 6:27:44 AM
So, Dolly needed programming before she could go out and eat grass?
Plus, a sperm is only one piece of a potential future human. Something like 99.9 % of all sperms go to waste.
How do you "act human" or "think like humans"? People in different cultures act very differently and seem to think rather differently too. Not even the "yes" and "no" signs with the head is the same all over the world.
What is a soul, and how do you prove that you have one?
7/16/2009 6:28:54 AM
Itz seems to be clear that for you "research" has another meaning than for the rest of the (educated) world ;)
7/16/2009 6:29:13 AM
Are you saying that they'll be like fundamental cultists, inhumane and soulless?
7/16/2009 6:41:32 AM
Thundersqueaks"they might have to be 'programmed' like 'clones'."
Do you mean like this?
7/16/2009 6:42:23 AM
Thundersqueaks: That's hard to look at after a while.
"I've done some risotto before, not on this parsley... but i dont think they will be considered 'Hunan'..."
7/16/2009 6:50:39 AM
And you might be an idiot.
7/16/2009 6:51:00 AM
7/16/2009 7:08:24 AM
Oh nose, bad sciency science. My research says "all bad science is unholy", this i noze.
7/16/2009 7:20:43 AM
That's what they thought about IVF.
7/16/2009 7:45:32 AM
"Destroying an egg in a mother's womb is the most intrinsic evil and must be stopped, but if I were ever to meet someone who was a clone of another person I wouldn't regard them as human. They're unworthy scum."
Can you feel the christian love?
7/16/2009 7:49:04 AM
Sperm were never considered humans.
Also, what you have to remember (or, most probably, learn in your case) is that identical twins are clones of each other. Do they share a soul? Is one born without a soul?
NO. They are both full-on human beings with awareness. The same would apply to artificially induced clones.
7/16/2009 8:11:52 AM
I suppose Dolly wasn't a sheep either, she just looked like one and had to be 'programmed' to act like one.
7/16/2009 8:12:06 AM
Er, precisely, how does one program a clone?
Is it like cloning the SIM card from a cellphone.
7/16/2009 8:20:39 AM
If they make a human sperm and fertilize a human egg, the resulting child will be a human. Sorry to burst your God's special snowflake bubble.
