[Scientists create sperm in laboratory]

I've done some research before. not on this per-sey... but i dont think they will be considered 'human', they might not even be human.
they might not even act human, think like humans or anything. they might have to be 'programmed' like 'clones'. they might not even have souls!

"I've done some research before."
Translation: "I've read the Old Testament AND the New Testament."

Souls don't exist. Also clones are not robots and they do not need to be programmed.

Hate to break it to you, but making shit up and then asserting it's true doesn't qualify as research.

but i dont think they will be considered 'human', they might not even be human. they might not even act human, think like humans or anything

So all you've got is baseless speculation and your own admittedly uninformed opinion.

they might have to be 'programmed' like 'clones'

Since when do we "program" clones in the first place? We don't have to "program" cloned sheep so that they will act like sheep, why would a human be any different. Seems to me that you don't understand what is science fiction and what is real science. This is the real world, not Star Wars, we don't "program" clones in the real world.

they might not even have souls!

And just what is a soul? Why hasn't anyone ever been able to demonstrate or even so much as infer the actual physical existance of a soul? They probably won't have souls since such things don't exist outside of myths and fairy tales.

"I've done some research before. not on this per-sey... "

Well, haven't we all. I've done some research into American history, lighting design and acoustics.

"but i dont think they will be considered 'human', they might not even be human."

So, you're saying that one could not consider them human even if they were human?

"they might not even act human, think like humans or anything."

Very unlikly as they would be biologically entirely human and, I would assume, be raised by humans in a human society, but then again, there's your research to consider.

"they might have to be 'programmed' like 'clones'."

Clones do not have to be "programmed" any more than non-cloned children are "programmed."

"they might not even have souls!"

You might not have a soul either. Please prove that you do.

Thinking Allowed

So considering that the biggest person responsible for human cloning is your god, which identical twin has the soul and which one needs to be "programmed"?

@schism:

So why aren't you people jumping for joy at the idea of an army of unquestioning sheep at your command?

There is already an army of unquestioning mindless fundies at the church's disposal. And fundies don't like competition.

Clone =/= Robot

The rest is too stupid to comment.

The world's biologists will be rocked by the realization that this new human clone has no soul.

No. Wait. They won't.

And anyway, is Fairyice really saying that every sperm has a soul, unless it's made in a test tube?

Every sperm is sacred.
Every sperm is great.
If a sperm is wasted,
God gets quite irate.

ALL humans have to be "programmed." It usually takes at least 18 years.

Clearly, some of your programming was badly written and full of syntax errors.

Clones require no programming; Dolly the cloned sheep had no trouble being a sheep.

Creating a clone human is no different from creating an identical twin but with more identical-ness.

...which identical twin has the soul...?

They each get 10.5 grams, of course!

1. Human DNA = Human fetus. No way around it.
2. Since when do we have to program clones? We're not the Asgard you know.
3. If they are raised human, they will act human. If they are human, they will think like humans.
4. What is this "soul" you are so convinced exists?

"I've done some research before. not on this per-sey..."

That's like saying "Well, I've read a book on Africa, so you should listen to my speculation on the nature of quarks."

Full points for being completely irrelevant

I've done some research before. Not on this per-se. It was actually on whether Geico was the cheapest car insurance or not. Oh and another time I did some research on the lowest calorie lemon bars.
