Quote# 64345

(RR fan mail)

Naturally at a young age, I was extremely into the end times. During my years of 4th grade when I was about ten, the whole Left Behind series was all the rage. So I read them. They freaked me out of my mind. I remember even being so afraid, so scared that God was going to take me through this time that I would sit up late at night asking God to kill me before the year 2008. Because God gave me a strong feeling that when I was 18, in 2008, the prophetic ball would start rolling. Mind you, I was ten years old. All I could think about was how I was going to get my head chopped off if I didn't take the mark. Either that or starve to death because I wouldn't take it. Not exactly the brightest future for a ten-year old.

And yet, you still believe?

And he probably is now looking back to his past.

7/25/2009 12:23:36 PM

But religion is totally healthy guys, seriously.

7/25/2009 12:25:32 PM

Ten year olds are stupid. Was that your point?

7/25/2009 12:26:16 PM

It's 2009.

What does that tell you?

7/25/2009 12:27:01 PM

A perfect demonstration on why the church likes to "get 'em young". Indoctrinate them young and you've got 'em for life.

Although you are making progress, you are aware that your views were daft at 10 years, now keep following that logic and you could be free of all that nonsense.

Survival Of The Shittest

That's so sad. Stuff like this endorses Richard Dawkins' point that it's child abuse.

7/25/2009 12:42:20 PM

Your parents should be charged with abuse for filling your head with this shit.

Darwin's Lil' Girl

HAHAHAHAHA. It's 2009. Yet another rapture date missed.

7/25/2009 1:02:51 PM

I believe you had years of 4th grade.

7/25/2009 1:07:04 PM

The left behind books are FICTION!!

7/25/2009 1:18:19 PM

It is unbelievably sad that young people go to places like RR for solace where their ignorance and misconceptions will be reinforced.

7/25/2009 1:23:41 PM

Eerie, I'm the same age as this guy and had the same horrified response to those books minus the prayers for death. Only instead of that somehow affirming my beliefs it started my rejection of them.

Jezebel's Evil Sister

Naturally at a young age, I was all about having fun and never worried about anything because I knew my parents would protect me.

Naturally. Because I grew up in a family of normals, not mind-fucked funditards.

Christianity: Terrorizing the gullible with horror fiction for 1,900 years.

7/25/2009 1:31:13 PM

"They freaked me out of my mind."

Judging by the rest of your ridiculous blather, that wouldn't be very hard - your mind is obviously very tiny.

7/25/2009 1:34:20 PM

Religious child abuse resulting in mental problems for the poor kid, now he is totally delusional.

His parents should have been charged with child abuse and neglect.

7/25/2009 1:50:03 PM

"Not exactly the brightest future for a ten-year old."

Yeah. And I suppose you still don't understand why so many kids raised in that stuff have mental health issues.

7/25/2009 2:07:45 PM

2009 and counting! Wake up, moron!

7/25/2009 2:46:41 PM

Not exactly the brightest ten year old if you couldn't tell the difference between really bad fiction and reality.

7/25/2009 2:46:43 PM

Caustic Gnostic

Too bad you missed it again.

"god" can't prescribe the medications that you need. See a doctor.

7/25/2009 2:56:58 PM

The rest of the mail goes on to say how he's just SO excited for the END OF THE FUCKING WORLD.

Seriously, how do they not realize that they're a death cult?

7/25/2009 3:03:20 PM

7/25/2009 3:13:52 PM

And people wonder why I agree with Dawkins about religion being child abuse.
