Quote# 64361

(how atheists will react to the rapture)

The Bible tell us that God will send them strong delusion.

Some speculate that this could be an encounter with UFOs. Others have said that the New Agers have called for "assigning the christians to another dimension" so the New Age can be ushered in.

But whatever the delusion, many will listen and say, ahhhh, o.k., now I see what happened, and then go about their business.

My theory, is that the non believers, who have been unable to prove physical evolution, will say that there has been a quantum leap in spiritual evolution and the undesirables and weakest links have been removed and they are left on the planet as the superior of the species.

First off, thats not how Evolution works.

Also, I'm getting really sick of hearing about the "rapture". If it were to happen, and your god was the right god, then the world would become a far better place without you.

The more interesting point is made in the first post: Atheists will recognize the supernatural event for what it is, and fall on their knees in repentance.

That has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with evolution. Mutation and natural selection do not cause billions of Christians to vanish into thin air. If they did, I would start believing in God, simple as that.

We're more likely to say, "What was that whooshing sound?" and then go about our business.

EVOLUTION DOES NOT WORK THAT WAY!

"an encounter with UFOs"

Because atheists are known for believing in UFOs.

"New Agers"

Because we accept what you call "New Age" any more than we accept your religion.

"who have been unable to prove physical evolution"

Since when?

"spiritual evolution"

What's that?

"undesirables and weakest links have been removed and they are left on the planet as the superior of the species"

Because we all think 'survival of the fittest' is about getting rid of those we think are inferior, rather than survival and reproduction of the individuals best suited to the current environment.

"[they will] go about their business"

I think that's about the only thing you got right, and that's only if there happens to be a rapture.

7/31/2009 4:32:41 PM

Or, since only a minimal fraction of the human population, most probably living in trailers in absolute isolation(144000 raptured and true Christians against the 6 billion others)are candidates to it, they will not give a damn.

... and this Rapture will happen any day now! I just know it!

You know I've been hearing about the rapture since I was a kid.First when I was six it was supposed to happen in a year then two years then three and so on finally I came to the light of reason and decided the whole rapture thing was by far the craziest most impossible thing I ever heard about and left religion and everything to do with it.

Why is it that the people with the least to say will say it the loudest?

"My theory,"

Unsupported speculation is not a theory, just an opinion.

"is that the non believers, who have been unable to prove physical evolution,"

Hang on a second, the majority of christians accept the evidence for evolution and are quite comfortable in believing that that is how their god created. As for "proof" of evolution; no science offers "proof", just the best explanation of the observed evidence. Only the unthinking, unquestioning religionist offers "proof" or, indeed, "truth".

"will say that there has been a quantum leap in spiritual evolution..."

As the spirit or soul does not exist...

I'm pretty sure this shit isn't in the bible. It seems every time the issue comes up, what ever you think is a sign or whatever is "in the bible" and yet they never quote it.

let's here some odds here people.
likely hood he just made that up? I'm thinking 95%? higher?

"The Bible tell us that God will send them strong delusion."

So, the Bible tells you that God lies, and you're OK with that?

P.S. If there were ever to BE an actual rapture, there wouldn't be non-believers

7/31/2009 5:34:17 PM

You should really check the history of science. Science accepts its mistakes and rectifies them.. faith on the other hand, well.

If the whooshfest happens and you retards become history, there will necessarily be a "quantum leap in spiritual evolution".

Really, your lame fiction should have remained, and died, in the Dark Ages.

"The Bible tell us that God will send them strong delusion."

I believe you got our strong delusion by the looks of your forum. It's not really all that surprising I suppose, what with your god's notoriously bad aim with hurricanes, tornadoes and earthquakes often devastating the more religious areas while leaving all the heathens alone.

"Some speculate that this could be an encounter with UFOs."

Some? Like who? You and another moron on the forum?

"Others have said that the New Agers have called for "assigning the christians to another dimension" so the New Age can be ushered in."

I'm exposed to a good deal of crazy between this forum and my random wanderings through the internet and I've never heard such a thing.

"But whatever the delusion, many will listen and say, ahhhh, o.k., now I see what happened, and then go about their business."

So, a good portion of the population up and vanishes into nothing and you really think that any old half assed excuse is going to cut it?

You've been reading too much of that Left Behind claptrap.

"My theory, is that the non believers, who have been unable to prove physical evolution, will say that there has been a quantum leap in spiritual evolution and the undesirables and weakest links have been removed and they are left on the planet as the superior of the species."

Spiritual evolution? Give me a fucking break.

When the rapture occurs we will say we were wrong (we're' capable of doing that) just don't stick your head in a bucket of water and wait.
Oh BTW quantum evolution is an oxymoron. Your closest bet would be punctuated (in this case spiritual) equilibrium. Could work as a band name though - or I might rename the team in the next trivia comp.

Dr. Novakaine

Another person with no idea what evolution actually is. And I think the people who have"strong delusion" are the ones who thin the Rapture is going to happen in the first place.

WTF is 'spiritual evolution'?

Sounds like mysticism rather than science. I can't see rational people buying that one. But then, you wouldn't get that.

However, back in the real world, I don't think there'll be any need to find an explanation for the rapture......
