A human has 23 chromosomes. One of the vegetables has 11...does that make the vegetable half a human (or there abouts)? It must, considering your logic.

I'd like a little more context on this submission, personally. It's hard to tell what's going on. The phrase "considering your logic" at the end makes it clear that Supersport is being sarcastic here, but I can't tell (without the link) what he's trying to rebut.

Ok, when we say you have the brain of a cabbage, that's not what we mean.

Whether a vegetable is half a human depends a lot on the particular human.

No, but, (and this is a Fundie-stunning fact) each human share about 1/2 his/her DNA with the nearest tree. In that sense, trees are half human and humans are half tree.

Oh. Supersport. No, that does not follow from the logic of the poster this is in reply to. S/he just said we have all the same things in one chromosome that those two do in the other apes, including telomeric sequences -in the middle of the chromosome-. Since other signs point to common descent but the chromosome counts don't match this is what we would expect might have happened (btw, this is a prediction of evolutionary theory). By -your- logic some strawberry strains or those treated with colchicine are superhuman.

I'd start out by saying that humans don't have 23 chromosomes, we have 23
pairs
of chromosomes ...
... but this is the same Supersport who believes that because Pluto is no longer classed as a Planet, it must therefore be classed as a Star.

I thought that was Carico... Or was it this idiot as well? I lose track. There are times they vie with each other for the 'Most Stupid Person Breathing' award...

I wonder, is there an invisible sign at CARM that only fundies can see that says-
"Logic not allowed"?

Considering how little Supersport knows about science, I can understand how this would make sense to him/her. However, in reality SCIENCE! (human genetic patterns) is just a
little
more complicated than that.

My phone book has more pages and more words than the Bible. Does that make the phone book more of a Bible than the Bible? It must, considering you logic.

"A human has 23 chromosomes. One of the vegetables has 11...does that make the vegetable half a human (or there abouts)?"
No. But speaking of vegetables I'm sure I could have a more meaningful conversation with a radish than with you.
"It must, considering your logic."
Check the vegetable's DNA. Then check a human's. You'll find a surprising number of similarities.
Please explain this if we're some sort of "special creation". Evolution explains this because all life on this planet is in some way related. You, on the other hand, you're just fucked as far as your claims go.

If it wasn't Supersport, I would be wondering what the hell was the matter with this person. But since it is, I know exactly what the matter is with him: he's mind-numbingly ignorant about anything even remotely related to science, and probably reality.

Total Failure.
To start, it's 23 Chromosome Pairs.
