[When some vandals beheaded a Virgin Mary statue]It wasn't nice that the stone was broken(by human hands), but who knows, God may have been tired of the idolatry and decided that it had to go. Wouldn't be the first time that God destroyed man's idols that mocked Him and His sovereignty.
