Anyway, 666, or possibly 616. This is gematria; ancient Hebrew did not use numerical characters, but assigned letters to do duty. As a result, words can have numerical values. Writing 'Nero Caesar' in Hebrew might have come out as NRW QSR, which has a value of 616, which is the number of the beast quoted in earlier texts of Revelation. Later texts quote 666, which doesn't make much sense in a Nero context, but is a more magical number, and by then the Nero thing was no longer relevant, he having died.
The only thing wrong with this, of course, is that Revelation wasn't written in Hebrew, so, go figure.
