Hitler was a type of Anti-Christ.

So is Obama IMHO. NOT THE AC....but someone that we can see quite plainly as a man who the blind will follow quite easily. Watching the masses cheer him on and faint and practically bow to him was a shock to me. I saw through him immediately (long before the election) as I know many others did. But Obama's speeches and promises and appeal to the masses is eerily similar to what Hitler enjoyed.

And trust me - Hitler didn't come out with his evil plans from the starting gate. It took years for his 'true' intentions to come forth. As IMHO - we are seeing with Obama.

I think that men like Hitler and Obama are examples of just how easily the masses can and will be swayed by one man. The true evil in their intent comes later - when it is too late and the indoctrination has been fully in place. The AC will come out as a man of peace and the world will embrace him, only to find out his evil intentions years later........when he is in full power and practically unstoppable.

Ok, I see you are home schooled. I do not expect that any of you home-dumbed have any knowledge about history but let's see (extremely abridged, from a stoned memory):
- Munich beer hall uprising
- Hitler gets arrested
- Spends years in prison where he writes My Struggle or Mein Kampf.
- Released and gets elected, then takes over with dictatorial powers.
- Hitler crushes opposition and starts hunting down Jews
- Invades Poland and WWII starts.

Now, there were plenty of people who warned against Hitler long before he came to power. So, what is the connection to Obama again?

I was in two minds - originally I didn't support McCain or Obama, but I knew I had to pick one because it will be a LONG time before a third party will win. And I "saw through" Palin really quickly - as well as the motivations behind picking her - and that was the last straw.

WRONG. Eerily enough, Hitler had announced his intentions YEARS before he joined the political spectrum, in his autobiographical book "Mein Kampf" (German for 'My Struggle') and in the book he expressed his anti-Semitic and White-supremacist views early on. Sadly, even though the book was a big seller, no one really paid attention. My AP History teacher from high school explained that it was 'one of those books that everyone buys as graduation gifts and wedding presents, but no one actually read'. Imagine how many lives would have been saved if people had read his book!

Granted, both are very charismatic... but there were other reasons for picking Obama, you know. Like, oh I don't know, McCain's incredibly faulty reasoning behind the choosing of Palin?

Lets take a comparison of the political careers of two men, Hitler, and Bush Jr.

Both Hitler and Bush were elected not by the popular vote, but by the political machinations of elites and big business support.

Shortly after Hitler became Chancellor of Germany a great catastrophe occurred: The Reichstag (think of the congress building burning down) building was burned to the ground by an extremist attack.
Shortly after Bush was made President the World Trade Centre Towers were attacked by extremists and burned to the ground.

In response to this Hitler implemented the Enabling Act which gave him emergency powers and suspended several basic rights in the name of security.
In response to this Bush implemented the PATRIOT Act which gave him emergency powers and suspended several basic rights in the name of security.

Hitler blamed communists for the attack and defamed them to the point that no communist could ever win popular support in Germany again, the left-wing of politics was marginalized by the media.
Bush blamed Muslims for the attack and defamed them to the point that no Muslim could ever gain popular support in the USA. The left-wing of politics was marginalized as "weak on security".

This hatred of Communists eventually lead to a later invasion of the USSR, a communist country.
This hatred of Muslims eventually lead to an invasion of Afghanistan, a Muslim nation.

Hitler faked polish attacks on German radio towers to justify an unlawful invasion of Poland.
Bush faked evidence of WMD's to launch an unjustified attack on Iraq.

Both had problems getting oil and had to invade other countries to get it.

Both had serious military disasters due to poor decision making and lack of exit strategies (from Russia/Nth Africa and Iraq/Afghanistan respectively).

Both poured immense amounts of money into the Army, crippling their countries economies.

Both were viewed in retrospect as unintelligent and egotistic.

Both lied.

First and foremost, be aware that you have already lost, according to Godwin's law. Now:

To an extent I agree. While I certainly don't think Obama is the next Hitler, I do think charismatic leaders* have to be watched more closely because they can get away with more if they aren't. However, assuming that Obama is a genocidal nut does not follow from that.

Trust you? When you've just demonstrated that you're ridiculously ignorant? Not likely. Hitler's contempt for democracy, hatred of the Jews, and plans for war were not secrets. Mein Kampf was written before Hitler's political campaign really got going, and it makes his intentions quite clear.

Even completely autocratic leaders need some level of popular support (just ask King Louis XVI.) Since you assume this guy will become US president (subject to impeachment, and the judgement of the electorate every four years) what makes him so unstoppable?

* which is what causes the mass appeal that you're so freaked out over. Hitler had charisma. Obama has charisma. Claiming that that makes Obama an anti-christ is a Hitler-ate-sugar argument, and not allowed.
