I'm black. I thank God my ancestors were slaves. It was the white man who introduced my people to the true and living God whom you do not know at this time. I will pray that you come? to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Right now you fellowshipping with the devil.

"My ancestors were forcefully torn from their homes and families, starved and beaten on the boats who brought them to this continent and then mistreated and abused for the rest of their miserable lives, as did their children and grandchildren. I'm so glad!"
I'm black. I thank God my ancestors were slaves.
Once again, great evidence for the fact that a persons intelligence has nothing to do with a 1/100 of an inch thick pigmentation layer in your skin.
What an idiot!
While I agree that this is a completely sick viewpoint, I can also see that, WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF THEIR BELIEF, this statement holds together. It is way better for a person to be a slave for a lifetime than to be in hell for eternity. After all, as time approaches infinity, all finite time approximates zero. And the point could be easily made that the OP's ancestors would have never been "saved" (forcibly or otherwise) had there not been american slavery.
Of course I find his whole statement repugnant, but it is the anti-life theology from which it springs that is the real tragedy.
Darn, DevilsChaplain beat me to it.
Uncle Ruckus quotes:
"To save thyself, you must hate thyself."
"Praise the caucasian savior!"
"May white God bless you Robert!"
Sadly, there are other black people like pattiejames out there.
Hammurabi at #1009099:
You are correct, up to a point. However, your observation holds only if one assumes that slavery was the only way to introduce Africans to Christianity. You'd think that God could have arranged a less heinous way for them to get converted if it was so damn important to him.
"I'm black."
Something about that sentence makes me doubt that, I have heard too many people start a racist sentence with 'a black person said' to justify their racist nonsense. Of course, on the internet you can just say 'I am black' to begin your rambling and no-one can see your colour to prove otherwise.
"I thank God my ancestors were slaves"
I thought so, your talking bullshit. Lying for Jebus now, are we? I cannot be bothered to read any further of your crap.
I assume your ancestors weren´t as thankful as yourself to have to live a life in slavery and I assume you wouldn´t be so thankful as well, if you were still in the same situations as your ancestors, instead of being able to live your life as a free man.
Oh, yes, and one more thing:
If you're happy and you know it, clank your chains.
"I'm black. I thank God my ancestors were slaves."
I bet they didn't. It's easy to speak for people who are long dead, when you yourself were born free and never had to endure the things that they did.
I cannot believe this. Perhaps you should take a stroll on the river walk in Savannah, Georgia where a sculpture of newly arrived slaves are depicted. You know, small children torn from their parents and husband and wife torn from each other. These people actually had their mouth and teeth examined like a damn horse buyer. Since they were considered nothing but cattle I guess the buyers didn't think they'd miss one another. It truly will punch you in the stomach. Those folks would not agree with you. Of all the things that are horrid, being ripped from your children is one and not being able to do a damn thing. I doubt many folks black or white would agree with you.
@EvoPagan: That photo makes we wonder if our species will ever move out of the barbaric stage.
if you do go there go get a praline. They are divine, therefore Godly.
Tyler Perry? Is that you?
"It was the white man who introduced my people to the true and living God whom you do not know at this time."
You do realize:
1. that there is more than one Caucasian?
2. none of us were alive when US slavery happened?
3. "my people" is as racist as "you people"? (as in, "What's the matter with you people?")
Didn't think so. You don't strike me as all that bright.
OP
I'm black...
Me:
I very much doubt it.
Otherwise it's the finest case of Stockholm Syndrome by Proxy I've ever seen.
Oh, and what Dr Novakaine said ^^^
Easy for him to be thankful, since he's not the one who was a slave. Maybe we should enslave him, force him to live the life his ancestors lived, and see how quickly he changes his tune. I'd give the wuss about one day. Tops.
Confused?
