Do not forget who told man that killing was wrong.
It wasn't a scientist. In fact, from his point of view, killing is just part of the process.
It wasn't a philosopher because human emotions like jealousy and revenge always took the best of them.
The bonding element is God, it's what makes you have a soul and be different from others.

Yeah, those dang scientists, going round killing people all day long.
Hey, miguel, who told us fucking your sister was wrong? It wasn't your god, that's for sure!
"Thou shalt not kill." -- God
"Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy everything that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys." -- God
"It wasn't a philosopher because human emotions like jealousy and revenge always took the best of them."
Okay, let's explore how God doesn't let human emotions get in his way:
Under God's direction, Moses' army defeats the Midianites. They kill all the adult males, but take the women and children captive. When Moses learns that they left some live, he angrily says: "Have you saved all the women alive? Kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves." So they went back and did as Moses (and presumably God) instructed, killing everyone except for the virgins. In this way they got 32,000 virgins -- Wow! (Even God gets some of the booty -- including the virgins.) Numbers 31:1-54
God killed all the Egyptian firstborn. Numbers 33:4
"The Lord killeth ..." -- every chance he gets. 1 Samuel 2:6, 2:25
God will kill children and young men, and the dead bodies "shall fall as dung .... and none shall gather them." Jeremiah 9:21-22
I'm guessing the prohibition of murder wasn't one of the ideas of God the philosopher.
However, he has to do it through a man who put into a test, guess how?, killing his own son. I guess that, following your philosophy, the whole humanity would have died.
God thinks killing is wrong? Sure, it's a commandment.
But the original line was more like "Thou shall not kill (Unless I tell you to massacre nations and stone people to death and such.)"
The Golden Rule, in its myriad forms, predates the Bible by several centuries. According to the Old Testament, Yahweh/Jehovah is a mass murderer, so he's hardly one to talk.
Try again.
So how come Ancient Greeks and Romans, Chinese, Indians (old and new world), Japanese and Africans all end up with pretty much the same laws against killing long before Jesus was born or anyone outside the Middle East even heard of the Jewish scriptures?
I can't name a single philosopher who didn't tell us killing is wrong.
hell, even Machiavelli promoted moderation.
And there I was thinking that we didn't kill one another because humans naturally treat others as they would like to be treated (to a certain degree) to enforce teaming up with one another to fight off adversity.
Also, killing people takes a LOT of work....and humans are know for being lazy.
Yes I completely agree - history has shown that all nations before they heard of Jesus were killing, looting, raping, burning babies etc, and Europe with its great morality was a beacon of shining light... and that time was called the 'Dark Age'
Do not forget who told man that killing was wrong
Tough one, hmmm. Let's see - god speaks directly to George Bush, and didn't tell him any of that shit, so...not god...
Ya got me, I give up.
Killing is wrong because of the "do unto others" philosophy. I wouldn't want to be killed because being killed is uncomfortable for me and tramples upon my rights as a living, thinking being. Other human beings seem to be like me. Therefore I naturally assume that if they are like me they will also desire not to be killed. If they don't want to be killed just as much, and for the same reasons, as I do, then it would be considerate on my part to not kill them, in essence it would be a nice thing to not kill others. That is why it is good to not kill others. Thats why it is wrong to kill others.
God can go fuck you and then himself!
Do not forget who told man that killing was wrong.
