Marital rape is a crime in the US and most other Western countries, although some states consider marital rape to be a different crime than rape by a stranger, and there is always the practical problem of proving that sex between spouses is rape. The Bible's view on the subject is completely irrelevant and ignored by the law. A husband can always be prosecuted for assault, if not rape.

To Zeus Almighty at #1009045: Wow. More than a little disappointed to see one of my own advocating or excusing, even jokingly, murder of people of a different ideological bent.

If the tables were turned and a fundie at Free Republic or somewhere made a similar comment about, say, gays, even if they tried to say, "Oh, I'm just joking," we'd rightly be tearing that person a new one right here.

Aren't we supposed to be better than that?
