Magoo: "I was wondering if anybody knows if there are any other religions where many of their people are martyred for their faith. As far as I know Christians seem to be the only ones."
Of course there were, and christianity has far more often than not the ones making the martyrs, it's just that you don't consider them to be martyrs because they don't happen to share your religious beliefs.
Glory in Print: "As far as I can tell Christians and Jews are the most persecuted group of people in history
Jews may very well be, but not christians. The few hundred years of persecution is nothing compared to the thousand plus years that christians have exercised near dictitorial power and engaged in many persecutions of their own. The claim that christians are one of the most persecuted groups in history is laughable on it's face.
(hmm I wonder why?)
For Jews it was because of persecution by christians, for christians it's simply a figment of your imaginations brought on by the guilt of the years of persecution that christianity commited.
its the 2 groups Satan and the world hates the most....
Until the holocaust christianity was busy blaming the jews for everything, calling the jews agents of satan.
I think alot more Christians have been martyred than Jews though.
Oh bullshit. Christians have executed far more jews simply because they were jewish than the total amount of christian martyred in all of history. not to mention that many christians that are now considerd to be martyrs were martyred by their fellow christians over theological or doctrinal differences.
