The Sickening Facts About Obamacare

#1) A National Health identification card will be issued to all Americans.

#2) You can keep your current doctor IF the government medical boards allow it.

#3) You can keep your current insurance IF your insurance company does not go out of business because they can't compete with the new government-backed alternative.

#4) Virtually everywhere you find nationalized health care around the world, you find very substantial health care rationing. It will be the same under Obamacare.

#5) Just like in the U.K. and Canada, government bureaucrats will decide who gets care and who doesn't, and therefore they will often decide who lives and who dies.

#6) If the government does allow you to get care, in order to control costs government bureaucrats (and not your doctor) will decide what treatment you will get for your condition. If they decide the treatment you need is not "cost-efficient" then you are sore out of luck.

#7) The bureaucracy required to run Obamacare will be a nightmare of unprecednted magnitude and it will quickly send federal deficits into the stratosphere.

#8) Obamacare will FORCE Americans to get health insurance. If you do not get health insurance you will be subjected to extremely heavy fines.

#9) It has been confirmed that elective abortion will be covered for all Americans. Because this is what health care is all about now - eugenics.

Myths, myths, and more myths.

Nothing new here. Move along.....

Edit: For #8, "forcing" all americans to get health insurance is just like forcing all americans into eating: It's something everybody needs and everybody deserves.

1. Yeah, so?

2. No, doctors will still be able to choose their own clientele.

3. And if they do, you can get government insurance, which likely won't look for an excuse to deny your coverage whenever you need it.

4. What do you mean by "substantial... rationing"? We've got waiting lists up here, sure, but care is available and not rationed.

5. For one, no, they don't, and for another, how would that be any different from the current system you've got where HMO bureaucrats, accountable to shareholders rather than the public at large, decide who gets care and who lives and who dies?

6. No, doctors prescribe treatment. The government chooses which treatments it will cover, though, but even if they don't cover it you can still get it as long as you have the money, so again, how is this worse than your current system?

7. On the other hand, with more people healthier and making more money, tax revenues will increase. And hey, maybe your military really doesn't need all the money they're getting.

8. What's bad about getting health insurance? I'd be very surprised if there weren't provisions to ensure that those who can't afford the usual government plan get it fully or partially subsidized.

9. Yeah, look at that word: "elective". That means that people can choose to get abortions. No one's forcing them on anyone.

I suppose, from the point of view of an unempathic rich fucker with contempt for the poor and hatred for a democratic government that would dare to act equally in the interests of the poor as well as the rich, that would be sickening.

I don't know about the rest, but I live in Canada, and I don't recall my government deciding who lives and who dies. That sounds way too awesome for the Canadian government.

This is convincing – to Raptards, who have never left Lower Goatfuck, Alabama, are too dumb to notice that they're being screwed now, and scream about the evils of Big Gummint in between sucks on a massive state/federal teat.

"If the government does allow you to get care, in order to control costs government bureaucrats (and not your doctor) will decide what treatment you will get for your condition. If they decide the treatment you need is not "cost-efficient" then you are sore out of luck."

You mean, as opposed to insurance companies telling you which procedures & treatments they'll pay for and which ones they won't because it's not cost efficient?

I take major issue with the last sentence. Eugenics? No. The closest thing to Eugenics in this country, at the risk of Godwinning myself, is the fact that people are denied medical care based on pre-existing condtions.

That's Eugenics fuckwit.

I'll respond with proper analogies.

1) Driving licence will be issued to all americans.
2) You can keep your car if DMV decides it is safe to drive. (had to improvise with this one, original is bullshit)
3) You can keep your electric power company, if it doesn't go under for being less efficient than state company. If that happens, you'll get cheaper electricity from government.
4) Virtually everywhere you fing state firemen service, you find fire stopping rationing,
5) just like in early capitalism, company decides who lives and who dies
6) Just like health inspector decides wherever you are going to pay 50$ for a bucket of salty grease or for healthy food. [improvising again]
7) the number of policemen will suddenly get a lot higher and that will quickly send federal deficits into stratosphere (screw less crime/disease. It's money that counts!)
8) it will force people to wear seatbelts. If you decide not to wear seatbelt, you will be fined heavily.
9) it has been confirmed that elective apendectomy will be covered for all Americans. This is what it's all about- food industry! (P.S. I hope that "routine" infant circumcision won't be covered by healthcare. Same as removal of healthy fingers just because you don't like how they look a.k.a harmfull cosmetic surgery)

"Just like in the U.K. and Canada, government bureaucrats will decide who gets care and who doesn't, and therefore they will often decide who lives and who dies."

I live in the UK. Under the NHS, everyone who needs care gets it, free of charge. There is no 'rationing' of treatment. The only thing that isn't provided for is 'luxury' treatment like tit jobs.

The system isn't perfect, it's creaking a bit, and it does get abused in some cases. But I'd far rather stick with our system than one where they reach for your credit card before checking your pulse.

#1) A National Health identification card will be issued to all Americans.

Why, it sounds almost like something called a Social Security card or driver's license! It's a good thing we don't have either of those things!

#2) You can keep your current doctor IF the government medical boards allow it.

No one has EVER changed jobs and gotten different insurance and had to find a new primary doctor because the old one isn't in the network. That NEVER happens.

#3) You can keep your current insurance IF your insurance company does not go out of business because they can't compete with the new government-backed alternative.

Or private insurance will become more affordable because they won't have a monopoly any longer.

#4) Virtually everywhere you find nationalized health care around the world, you find very substantial health care rationing. It will be the same under Obamacare.

Have you seen Sicko? People are dying now, people who HAVE your holy private insurance.

#5) Just like in the U.K. and Canada, government bureaucrats will decide who gets care and who doesn't, and therefore they will often decide who lives and who dies.

Again, have ya seen Sicko? I think you really ought to watch it. Pay careful attention to the woman talking about how their insurance company refused to authorize payment for treatment for her husband's leukemia and he died.

#6) If the government does allow you to get care, in order to control costs government bureaucrats (and not your doctor) will decide what treatment you will get for your condition. If they decide the treatment you need is not "cost-efficient" then you are sore out of luck.

THIS HAPPENS NOW, YOU FUCKING STUPID MORON.

#7) The bureaucracy required to run Obamacare will be a nightmare of unprecednted magnitude and it will quickly send federal deficits into the stratosphere.

It might even approach the cost of all the wars we have going on the Middle East that all started under King George!!!

#8) Obamacare will FORCE Americans to get health insurance. If you do not get health insurance you will be subjected to extremely heavy fines.

This I don't agree with, if it's true. You have one point out of nine. You're still losing.

#9) It has been confirmed that elective abortion will be covered for all Americans. Because this is what health care is all about now - eugenics.

And people will be able to get contraceptives and Viagra too! People are having sex and there's nothing you can do about it!

Seriously. Just STFU.

The Sickening Facts About the Current Situation:

#1) An insurance company health identification card is issued to all covered Americans. Besides, the IRS already has all your records, so there's no additional privacy issue.

#2) You can keep your current doctor IF he/she is a member of the insurance company's participating network.

#3) If your insurance company can't compete with the new government-backed alternative, tough luck. WalMart put a lot of inefficient small operators out of business, too.

#4) Virtually everywhere, you find very substantial health care rationing. It's the same under our current system.

#5) Medicare and Medicaid don't decide who gets care and who doesn't, and they account for almost 50% of all medical spending in the US (and probably more like 90% of all end-of-life situation).

#6) If the insurance company does allow you to get care, in order to control costs insurance company underwriter and claims adjusters (and not your doctor) will decide what treatment you will get for your condition. If they decide the treatment you need is not "cost-efficient" then you are sore out of luck.

#7) The bureaucracy required to run Obamacare will be no different than for Medicare. It won't affect federal deficits, because you'll be charged for it just like you are now by insurance companies. Insurance companies are trying to tell us "the government is inefficient", and then, out of the other side of their mouths they say "insurance companies will be put out of business because they can't compete."

#8) If you do not get health insurance, you will be sponging off the rest of us unless you're left to die.

#9) Elective abortion is covered for most insured Americans under the current system.

merciful mother!! why do these TWATS consider that other human beings happily condemn their fellows to death? Are they projecting, or don't they trust their public servants?

And why do they trust theinsurance companies who want to make a profit before people??

So you're saying the primary difference between how it works now and under Obama's plan is that the suits worn by the people that make up the medical review board will be somewhat cheaper?

the best way to practice eugenics is to have a healthcare system which favours the rich. national health care is the opposite of eugenics.
