An acquaintance of mine have had four surgeries due to problems caused by a genetic disorder. He has paid virtually nothing while received top class healthcare. Where is the rationing?

Funny you never hear this anti-government crap during GOP administrations, even while they rob the middle class blind. Suuuure, conservatives care about people, white Christian men maybe.
And shame on you -the post office does and has done an excellent job! People like you make mailmen snap! I suppose next you'll dog our socialized Food and Drug Administration for protecting the food you eat, in your home protected by those socialized police and fire department members. And what's after that, cursing our darned commie socialized roads. And I suppose you just hate the job our socialized military is doing too?

The government does not view us as human beings, Christians and conservatives view people as human beings, government and liberals view us as a number/dollar amount.
Sure, in Opposite Land.

1. These types of death panels already exist with private health care.
2. Lies.
3. The government runs the post office at a loss so Americans can send unprofitable letters to people. Ever notice UPS, FedEx, DHS, and others don't send letters for $0.40? Because it's unprofitable! But it's a useful service so the government spends the money anyway.

"...What do you think is going to happen with government run hospitals when money gets even tighter?
Shouldn't be a problem, with all millions of True Christian™ inhabiting this country. Instead of having their tithes go to buying Pastor Jim Bob a new caddy-lack every year or sending bibles to starving children in the Third World, they could have a new, fully staffed and fully equipped hospital built every week ... if they followed Jesus's command to help the sick.
Oh, wait ... I guess we'd just be shit out of luck until some rich atheists like Bill Gates or Warren Buffet picked up the slack.

The postal service is being replaced because of the very internet you're using. Does Email ring you a bell?. Concerning privatisation of medicine, do you think that you care about people denying them the most basic healthcare on the monetary basis?

> Private enterprises can deny service for any reason, or decline to continue your treatment if you don't pay them more money before, during or after the treatment, essentially signing your death certificate.
Fixed that for you.
As long as something costs money in the healthcare process - even the coffee in the doctor's break room - there's no perfect solution to the problem. But if I had to choose between corporate greed and citizen-appointed government, I'd choose the latter.
> The government can't even operate the post office successfully.
Ask yourself - is that the cause or the result of peoples' dissatisfaction?
Incidentally, here in Finland, the post office was privatised (well, technically, it's a public company owned by the government, but still). Since then, they've gone a little bit to hell in my opinion, because of the rampant cost-effectivisation and closure of most branch offices. If someone sends me a package, I can't remember which goddamned supermarket I need to go to in to find the little booth they call "local post office" these days. I dread to think what would happen if our hospitals were run like that!
Can you RR guys please quit whining about the Obamacare and discuss religion again?

Although still a government agency, the postal service has been operating as an autonomous, profit making enterprise for decades.
The government isn't going to run the hospitals, you cretin.
This guy obviously has a firm grasp of the subject.

My mom had a pneumothorax in Taiwan (punctured lung). Had to have a surgery, hospital stays for 2 weeks (the doctor insisted!).
Her bill?
Equivalent of about US$20, the rest paid for by the "socialist" medicine.
Have a friend who need to have a surgery and hospital stay here in US (forgot what disease). Insurance company denied his claim...
His bill is close to 5 digits (didn't say the exact amount, but in the high 4 digits).

Actually, many Christians view us as simply God's servants, conservatives see us as dollar signs, the government sees us as dollar signs and statistics, liberals see us a human beings, and all politicians at least partially see us a votes.

Funny. That's pretty much exactly what happens now if the insurance company decides not to pay for your treatment.

Yes, you "Christians" view people as human beings, that's why you say "Fuck 'em if they can't afford health care!" That's just what Jesus said on the matter, right? We can't give the poor health care because it will KILL them! We love them too much to do that to them! FUCK YOU.

They don't need death panels to accomplish this. They can deny service or put you on a "waiting list" indefinitely, essentially signing your death certificate.
=== This is happening already. Except the Death Panels are the Health Insurance companies
The government does not view us as human beings, Christians and conservatives view people as human beings, government and liberals view us as a number/dollar amount.
=== Er, who elects the government? Where does power lie in a democracy? With the people, no?
The government can't even operate the post office successfully.
=== Quite right. They leave it to the people who are supposed to operate it, the postal authorities.
They are going to close down 100 posts offices. What do you think is going to happen with government run hospitals when money gets even tighter?
=== An excellent reason why there should be proper health insurance payable by everybody, so that service will be available not at government of isurance companies' whims.

Im sure american conservative christian nimwits are amazed that we europeans havent collapsed or exterminated ourselves through public healthcare.
But ofc, theyll probably come with a shady conspirationist explanation to that (probably that we have all sold our souls to Satan, Beelzebub and Leviathan).

Do you know why the post office doesn't make money? I mean, heck, FedEX and the other delivery companies seem to make quite a bit of it, so why can't the post office? No, it's not because "government = bad", it's because the post office is required to take any package you give them and charge you a rate that is as low as possible. FedEx can gouge you all they like, but the post office can't.
It's similar to healthcare, really. You whine about government-run healthcare - how there will be shortages and people denied coverage and people paying exorbitant costs - but that's what's happening now. Without government-run healthcare. You've created a fantasy world where private-run healthcare is perfect and since government-run healthcare can never be perfect (because nothing can be perfect), then it must be a step down.
