I'm not going to offer my opinion on the actual interracial marriage, although they were forbidden in the Bible. What I will say is will somebody PLEEEEAASE think of the children. haha. No. It's true. All kidding aside. Nobody bothers to think of them. They don't fit in anywhere and are thus segregated from their peers. They aren't black and they aren't white. Although they might be able to fit in on some superficial level, they don't have anything to call their own and it just isn't fair to them.

My grandmother, an otherwise sane and reasonable lady, feels exactly this way. She says that love is love and should not be limited by the color of one's skin, but that interracial marriages are unfair to the children who will have to endure social ostracism throughout their lives.
The thing is, there is no reasonable ground for discriminating against multiracial children, and so anyone who does is simply being a bully. And bullies actively look for something to make fun of in everyone. Were the child not multiracial, he would be teased for wearing glasses, being overweight, wearing the wrong clothes, etc. In middle school, bullies couldn't find anything to tease me about except my long hair, so they focused on that. Being multiracial is the same way; it's just a silly, arbitrary thing that bullies will make fun of in lack of anything else to criticize. Also, if more children were multiracial, bullies would have a much harder time of teasing them, due to the high likelihood that one of their friends, or they themselves, would be multiracial. "Think of the children" is a misguided argument at best.

Who cares anyway? The tone of your skin does not tell anything beside the tone of your skin.

Btw, the only two options are not black or white. We have red, yellow, pink, brown, etc.

The only people who are really white are albinos, and maybe Eskimos. We Europeans are mostly pinkish.

I have friends from all around the world. My best friend's father is from Pakistan, and her mother was from Indian Uganda. I have a second cousin who's adopted from Colombia, and a cousin's fiancée who's from somewhere, she's dark-skinned but I have never asked her where she comes from, as that is not really important. I have friends from Iran, Egypt, Zambia, Canada, New Zealand, England, etc. I have business colleagues from Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Argentine, Malaysia, Thailand, England and Italy.

The culture decides much more how we act, than the color of our skin does. My friend from Zambia is blonder and whiter than I am.

Well, sorta. But no. The OT kinda blurs nation, race and religion together in the case of the Hebrews. The problem with mixed marriages was because if the woman cooking the food wasn't a Jew, she might not be keeping Kosher properly.
If you're not Jewish, and not concerned about mixing meat/dairy, there's no biblical problem.
Or, if you're not, you know, fucking stupid, either.

Um, if they don't fit in, they don't have peers. If they have peers, that's where they fit in. Do you English? Might want to work on that.

Depends on the state, doesn't it? The whole 'one-drop' rule? My kids were born in Virginia and Florida, and both states say they're black.
Cuold just as easily say one drop of white blood makes them white, but go figure.

I am really, really glad that you're so concerned on being fair to my kids that you would deny them community with your precious white clan. But we seem to be getting by nicely without difficulty.
