Did anyone notice the topic of the essay that the kids will write?
I AM what I learn
I sent this out to friends with kids in public schools. Chilling choice of words

It wouldn't make any difference what the topic was, any words in any language under the circumstances would be reported as chilling by you. You probably even find something wrong or suspicious with the words, Jesus is great and I want to float for Him, as an essay topic.
Holy fuck, what an idiot!
I understand the OP think public schools are tool of the devil and only homeschooling or hyper-religious indoctrinating schools are acceptable.
The Op think their children will become muslim socialist liberal communist nazi atheists if they continue in public school.
So anytime, somebody uses the words I and am together, it's evil?
Want to go through your board and count the number of evil people? I AM bored, I AM worried...
Fuck just shoot yourselves already, suicide is not in the bible as a sin, that was a catholic invention to keep serfs working until they died.
Edit:
To those above I AM is one of the many sacred titles of God. So take from that whatever you will.
I see what you're doing there. You think that by capitalizing the word "am," you can suggest that Obama is trying to get your kids to think they're equal to your god.
Except, well, reality, grammar, and basic logic just don't work that way.
As opposed to what, "I am what my mommy tells me I am?" Maybe "I am special because a book of ancient fairy tales says I am?"
Your kids ARE what they learn. If they learn to be good, little, Fundie Christian robots, that's what they'll be.

Didn't he trademark it? I could swear I;ve seen the logo "IAM's around... ;-)
Edit: I found it! The paws of God:

What's so "chilling" about those words? Is inspiring children to learn really such a bad-- oh, nevermind, it's RR, edjewkayshun is eeebil.
Well, if they learn that beating up gays and lesbians and burning books is a good way to prove their masculinity and faithfulness, that's what they'll become: Book-burning, savage homophobes. And possibly self-hating on the last count. I thought even you would have figured that out.
I swear you guys can find ANYTHING to be subversive. You teach your kids your religion, especially as you understand it, and that may very well be what they are, therefore they have become what they learned. Geez.
Perhaps you're not very well acquainted with such advanced academia as essay writing, but it's my experience that in practically all cases, when kids are given an essay title then they're perfectly entitled to write an essay that disagrees with it. Essay titles are not unquestionable orders from above; they merely present concepts to be considered, and I'd venture to suggest that kids will learn a hell of a lot more from challenging or even controversial titles than they will from a steady diet of bland, safe options. If the kid's reasoning and writing are of a good quality, any competent teacher won't really give a fuck which side the kid takes. A really excellent teacher would respect and reward a kid for competently analysing and defending an unusual stance.
Maybe I missed something, but what's so chilling about that choice of words? Are you afraid that they'll learn about evolution and think they're a bunch of monkeys?
Basically, though, that sentence is true. If you learn to be nothing more than a bible banging fundie, you'll be a bible banging fundie. If all you learn is how to cook, clean, and pop out babies, you'll be a housewife for the rest of your life.
Wow. If you interpret "I AM" as a reference to YHWH, then basically it's saying "God is what I learn," or "I learn about God."
Yeah, I'm shaking in my shoes. 9_9

As opposed to what, "I am what my mommy tells me I am?" Maybe "I am worthless and deserve death unless I accept jesus as my lord and savior, because a book of ancient fairy tales says I am?"

Fixed that for ya buddy :3
Oh noes! The presence of a wildly prevalent phrase in all languages that's also 1/2 of God's name!
What's the conspiracy here? "God what I learn"? I'm learning about evilution? Libruls are indoctrinating our children to think?
It's 2:30 a.m. You people drive me nucking futs at this hour.
Confused?
