[on Obama's school speech]
Media Resources Prepared School Remarks

He's basically telling kids to work hard, stay in school, and don't let obstacles stand in your way.
These people just need to get over themselves.
"you can actually sense the evil in the man"
As opposed to... what? Knowing the obvious insanity whenever George Dumbya Bush and Sarah Failin deigned to open their cake-holes.
Q: How do you know when a Repubican is lying?
A: Whenever they're breathing.
To accept responsibility for one's life is the most dire heresy known to fundie sheep.
The sheep are frightened at the prospect of being 'left behind', but there it is.
Wow, such evil message. He told them to steal, kill, rape and lie and he will forgive them everything if they say they believe in him and give him some of the loot... Oh, wait... He didn't said that.
I cannot find one single thing wrong with anything that he said here...except that he mentions people who aren't white and broken families, and I know how threatening that is to you fundies. But everyone isn't just like you, and even people who come from what you consider to be a nontraditional home deserve to get an education and make the best they can out of their lives. Quit being fucking racist snobs.
"you can actually sense the evil in the man as you read through this"
Uh, no. I can't. YOU can, but then, you idiots see evil in everything.
It is an inspiring speech. Only a jackass or a retard would read that and think it was evil or disgusting!
So what is it that makes it evil, Richie? The scary Black man or the fact that we've got a Democrat president and your Corpse and Princess Barbie lost?
@Wehpudicabok: Cheers for the linkage. That actually makes it a bit understandable; not excusable, but from their perspective understandable. The fear is that kids will see this man who's *not* the devil incarnate as dear old Mum and Dad see him, and then the kids start to think: well, what else have my parents lied to me about? Then all Mum and Dad's hard work to raise a good little fundie sheep is out of the window.
Mouth-breathing is profoundly addictive emotionally, physically, and intellectually, Richie. It is also extremely annoying.
Cold turkey the habit, man. Just say no.
Obama's school speech was virtually identical to the same speeches made by Bill Clinton, Ronald Reagan, and George Bush.
I am absolutely confident the only reason we are seeing this kind of venom is because he's black. That's it. They aren't even listening to what he's saying. He's black and that's all they really care about.
I don't know what hte SL Universe is, but it sure is different to the one I inhabit, in which he essentially said, "work hard, stay in school". Yeah. Eeeeevil.
Actually, I can see why a fundie might think that telling kids to actually educate themselves out of a miasma of ignorance would be evil.
I have read the link that Wehpudicabok posted and it does make sense in a way as to why the hardline conservatives are acting this irrational.
These people are really seeming to grasp straws that Obama is evil in some way, somehow that we don't know of yet, and as soon as Obama makes a mistake, they will be there to rub it in with a, "I told ya so," comment.
As for the religous bent in this, I think this is another attempt to grasp at staws that Jesus is coming and that he will reward the faithful (conservatives) and punnish those who weren't (everyone else). I mean, after all, supposedly He should have returned maybe 10 years ago at least if not earlier.
I really do think it's a broad sweeping of generalization to say that those this rabidly opposed to Obama are KKK card carying racists. Yes, I do realize there are people out there that don't like Obama as president because he is black, but I think it's simply that Obama is a very liberal Democrat and that supposedly he shouldn't be president because of (insert excuse) is their twisted reasoning as to why he is so "wrong" for this country.
What I have noticed this past decade is that the opposing party that loses the presidental election will claim that the winning party cheated their way to office somehow and therefore their party is the rightful winner and should be in office.
I just read it and all I can say is I wish someone had come to my school and told us this when I was a kid *sniffle*
Seriously, this speech is actually a little bit inspiring and motivational; where was the evil bit? Honestly, if America doesn't want Obama, can we have him?
Sincerely, The Rest of The World :op
Uh, folks? Read his other posts - one page later, Richie is complaining about Ronald Reagan being dimwitted in comparison to Obama.
In another thread, he posted a video of Rachel Maddow interviewing Frank Schaeffer , calling the fundamentalist section of the GOP the "Fifth Column Of Insanity".
This post here was definitely meant to be sarcastic.
Confused?
