You do realize, of course, that people have been predicting the end of the world for more than 500 years now. And then, when it didn't end, their explanation was just that their math was wrong...
I remember being an exchange student in Russia in 1993 when one such "end of the world" dates came up. I had a date with a Russian girl that day to visit the Hermitage. I joked to her that we'll at least have had the chance to see that great museum before the end of the world....
