By "well adjusted" do you mean "they let their husbands walk all over them"?
Also, "women." Not "girls."

They aren't women if they never got to grow up...

Better to let them see the ugliness (both actual and alleged), that they might know how to properly guard and riposte and transmute it. If you never actually witness it, how will you know how to overcome it without forcing God to do the work for you?

Dealing with the ugliness of the world is what makes someone an intelligent human being.

Well adjusted?, if shielded from the ugliness of the world, I don't know how they're going to face their problems(the name "girls" makes me think that they don't)

I swear that's what makes so many fundies believe that end times are near. They were raised completely shielded from reality so once they see a bit they're so shocked that they think surely the world must be coming to an end.

First of all, you don't know what they've done behind your back. Second of all, if they ever leave your everyoneisagoodolbiblebelivinChristian bubble of a world, they're gonna be in for a rough ride.

That fact that you have to say they are well adjusted says a lot.

If they are like you they are not well adjusted.

I'll bet they were all married in their teens or just barely beyond that, too, to the first guy who looked their way, and never even got to set foot in the real world.
Very well adjusted = They went straight from the authority of fundie mom to the authority of fundie husbands and staying home with litters of kids without rebelling.

When you are told that the entire world is evil and out to get you since you are born then yes you would be grateful to be sheltered.
Its called brainwashing.

"Also they are grateful that they were shielded from the ugliness of the world."
At the first shock of no-longer-being-sheltered, I was too. But now, I wish I'd never been nearly so sheltered, because the sheltered, teenage L of a decade ago was an annoying, stuck-up prick with no friends.
I'll take well-adjusted, well-rounded non-sheltered kids over annoying, stuck-up pricks any day.

Hush now baby, baby, don't you cry
Momma's gonna make all of your nightmares come true
Momma's gonna put all of her fears into you
Momma's gonna keep you right here under her wing
She won't let you fly, but she might let you sing
Momma's will keep Baby cozy and warm

Well, I agree with your first statement. And we probably agree the extreme view is extreme. I don't understand what your example has to do with that. It seems you're saying you don't like the idea of a very strict upbringing, then saying look how well a strict upbringing works. . . .

Being shielded is not necessarily a good thing. People like that tend to grow up to be very naive.
But I think this is part of what helps keep people in cults. They feel sheltered & safe in their circle of like-minded family & friends who keep telling them how evil & terrible the real world is. Then if they ever step foot outside their comfort zone, they tend to go running back to it because they can't handle the real world.

Shouldn't someone have shielded her vagina so she wouldn't have had 5 children to raise....
