Well, I guess I'm out! Last comments on your blog will be entirely different since I'm a black believer. Their is a very good reason why there are so little Black atheists. Social Darwinistic, Eugenic bastards like Richard Lynn who use the theory of evolution as a weapon to spread hate. If you actually looked, you would find many atheists that are just as bad as KKK and Xtian Nazis. The ideals of Darwinism & Eugenics combined were employed by Hitler, "the architects of apartheid" and everyone that colonized Africa.

The argument is illogical.
A small segment of atheists are racist = don't be an atheist.
Yet by his own admission, a small segment of Christians are racist.....
I do not doubt that there are racist athiests.
Nor do I doubt that there are racist christians and muslims.
Even bhuddists. One only has to look up "racism in Japan" to appreciat this.
Fact is, we're all a bit tribalistic. Anyone who says they're not racist is lying. We have to use our common sense to overcome our tribal instincts. We're better than what "god" gave us.

Actually, most of Japan is Shintoist.
In my part of the world the more Christian you are the more racist you are. 52 years in central Ontario.
Moderate Christians and Non-believers, at least 80% whitebread European stock.
I'm sure in the south (where religion has a stronger power base) some become atheist but still carry all that hate for the "others" they were told so many stories about. Then pass it on to their Atheist children.

Yeah, you can find plenty of atheists doing all sorts of crimes. Atheists are humans like everyone else, and some are good, some are bad. But you'll very seldom (persecution of Orthodox Christians in Soviet Russia is one example, and it was a very small part of the crimes of that government) find any of those crimes done for or because of atheism. How man people have murdered in the name of God?

You're half right. Shinto is indeed the native religion of Japan, but Buddhism long ago spread to the region as well, and the two blended together enough that the majority religion was a sort of Buddist/Shinto mix. However, in recent years it has become largely secularized--no Japanese politician today would dream of trying to pull a stunt like those often employed by U.S. Republicans (e.g., trying to get the Ten Commandments displayed in a courthouse). tribalistic yes but not necessarily racist since different people develop their identities and self-image differently. A person might give no importance to race and lots of importance to other identity categories (gender, subcultures, etc)

I accept that there may be racist atheists out there. But one does not have to be racist to be an atheist. That would be about the same as claiming that all Christians are racists because the KKK and Christian neo-Nazis are racist. Not true, but I do believe that you do have to be Christian to join the KKK, as they do incorporate the importance of Christianity in their rituals.

Since we're not clanish (except within other interests) it's unlikely. Sites like FSTDT contain the largest association I know of and it's a loose-affiliation with no dogma.

I could hate any race, any time, on a whim, for a laugh or thrill. Atheists can be jerks, there's nothing stopping them from that. Hitler wasn't much for NATURAL selection. He wanted to do the selection himself. The apartheid in South Africa and Israel aren't using any NATURAL selection either, it was/is mostly done with imprisonment, torture and/or murder. There are no ideals in evolution, it's only a natural process, as mundane and observable as photosynthesis.
The colonization of Africa began centuries before Mr Darwin was even born, and was often done with the excuse of "bringing Christ to the savages".
