This whole global warming/earth shift is bogus.
No one questions global warming. The only controversy is whether it's caused by man or is a natural phenomenon that we can't do anything about. In any event, the train has left the station. We've already started cutting back on CO2 emissions, and an industry is evolving around that. If you're a West Virginia redneck who's dependent on the coal industry, whining about global warming isn't going to help you. You're a dinosaur.

I'll just copy and paste something you wrote that describes this sentence perfectly: This is pseudo science. not real science.
One: The Earth orbits the sun, thus it would have to move closer.
Two: The Earth will not move closer to the sun.
Three: The sun will expand to be closer to the Earth, and engulfing Venus and Mercery in the process (Earth might or might not be sparred), in about 5 billions years from now. Note this is long after both you and I are dead.
Four: The stars will not fall down on to Earth.
Five: The Earth is not the center of the universe, not even the center of the Milky Way.
So yes, you are talking about pseudoscience (it's one word, not two.)

Uhh... you do know that the stars can't just fall to earth, don't you? First of all they're light years away, and if they come close enough to earth, earth will fall into the stars rather than stars falling to earth.

Instead of only paying attention to what people like Al Gore run around saying, try paying attention to articles and studies published by ACTUAL scientists. Frankly, alarmists like Al Gore have done more to hurt the battle against climate change than to help it. The reality isn't as dramatic as the whole "we'll all be dead in 50 years!" outcries, but it IS a major threat to human life. "Global warming" is a misnomer, anyway -- the planet won't heat up to 50C and turn into a vast desert. The air temperature isn't the main issue here. In reality, it's mostly the rise in ocean temperature that causes the problems, leading to more extreme weather (whether hot or cold), melting icecaps, flooding, etc.
Yes, it's normal for the planet's climate to gradually shift, but our collective influence on the planet has sped this up to the point where it's happening too quickly for the ecosystem to adapt, which will cause mass extinction of plants and animals, drive numerous people out of their homes, cut off much-needed resources, and almost certainly be either the direct or indirect cause of the deaths of numerous people. Because of the speed at which this is happening, we don't have enough time to develop technology that can reduce the number of casualties.
Are you really willing to gamble the future of humanity on your little rapture happening? Actually, I don't even need to ask... you people have already demonstrated your selfishness on numerous occasions, making it clear that you'd rather fuck up the planet than mildly inconvenience yourself by not constantly using you SUV everywhere you go.
