(In a thread about global warming)

Oh stop being so nice.
I don't agree to disagree. This whole global warming/earth shift is bogus.
And those scientists really aren't as respected as they think they are.

The events that happen in the tribulation will NOT be explainable by science, it will be by the Hand of God. The worldwide earthquakes will not have any good scientific reason behind them.

Certainly the tribulation is so close, that global warming will not have the time to manifest. God will cause a third of the stars to fall, bring the sun closer to the earth to bake it in heat---that will melt the ice, not man made warming.

This is pseudo science. not real science.

Size comparison between Earth and the largest known stars:

There are more than 100 billion galaxies in the universe, each one containing hundreds of millions of stars.

What exactly are these guys smoking?

Oh stop being so nice.

Translation: Being nice to people with ideological differences isn't the christian thing to do. People who are nice toward the evil ones who have non-theological differences with us are not true christians.

I don't agree to disagree

Then you'll just have to accept being wrong instead.

This whole global warming/earth shift is bogus.

And I'm sure you got a bunch of real compelling scientific data that you can back up that claim with too, right? Didn't think so

And those scientists really aren't as respected as they think they are

I doubt that a science denying RR poster is an authority on who is or is not respected within the scientific community.

The events that happen in the tribulation will NOT be explainable by science, it will be by the Hand of God.

And your scriptural basis for making that claim is what? You can't answer that because you don't have one. The entirety of the claims you people make about the rapture, tribulation, and end of the world is based 100% on works of fiction and fanfic created by other RR'ers.

The worldwide earthquakes will not have any good scientific reason behind them.

Chapter & verse please?

Certainly the tribulation is so close, that global warming will not have the time to manifest.

Am I supposed to think that you know when it will happen? The people who thought it was all imminent in the first century A.D. were wrong so what makes you think you have any better insight? People have been claiming that the end of the world is just around the corner for the whole of recorded history. They were all wrong, every last one of them, so what makes you think you are right? Especially in light of the fact that your own holy book tells you that you cannot possibly know the time.

God will cause a third of the stars to fall, bring the sun closer to the earth to bake it in heat---that will melt the ice, not man made warming.

That wouldn't "melt the ice", that would incinerate the entire planet. Also where are the stars going to "fall" from they don't actually hang in the sky.

This is pseudo science. not real science

I not only doubt, I also reject the idea that you are at all qualified to tell the difference between real science and crackpot science. And mu reasoning behind that is your demnstrated history of proclaiming only the things you agree with as true and rejecting the rest without so much as considering the evidence. You are a hack, a willfully ingnorant, uncurious, and intellectually dishonest fraud.

Mister Spak

"The events that happen in the tribulation will NOT be explainable by science, it will be by the Hand of God."

Will the lack of tribulation events be explainable by your mythology?

Stop giving all the well respected skeptics a bad name with your uneducated prattle.

You're not helping the debate.

Well, I'm not a native speaker of English, BUT: wouldn't Mr. Mannn have made less of a fool of himself if he had written: "That is pseudo science"?

"This is pseudo science. not real science."

says the fucking nutjob talking about the hand of god crushing people and whatnot. yeah mr. mann, i can see that you're a real astute practicer of the scientific method.

I don't really care that people like Mr. Mannn hold such ridiculous, non-reality based views. It is a free country after all. My problems is that these fucktards are allowed to vote.

I'm assuming you believe a third of the stars will fall on earth? I don't think there would be much left. No rapture. No tribulation. A booming baritone voice rings through space: oops.

And those scientists really aren't as respected as they think they are.

Those scientists must be truly struggling with the horror of knowing that homskool'd dull normals who think bats are birds 'becuz teh bible sed so' don't respect them or their work.

They're crying into their pillows every night. Pillows that are bigger than yours because they actually have functioning brains in their heads.

Ouch. That reasoning hurt me and I'm on different side of the internet.

You are correct about what you said being pseudo science...actually it's not even at that level.

9/28/2009 6:01:33 PM

JohnTheAtheist

Hey douchebag, do you have any idea how many stars there are? Are they gonna fall on earth since you obvioulsy believe that earth is "down".

What an asshole.

Beth B.

"God will cause a third of the stars to fall"

Given the lower limit on estimates of stars in the Milky Way -- let all the stars out there in the universe -- that's 67 *billion* stars headed for our measly little lump of dirt and metal (that's around 100x smaller than the average star). Our galaxy alone is 100k light years in diameter -- are the stars already en route? Is it just the closest 67 billion that are going to impact us? How will they all fit.

Sorry...couldn't resist injecting my "pseudoscience".

I forgot to add 100x in radius, not volume. #1028616, that's an amazing graphic! I want one!

If even one star were to 'fall to earth', the planet would be vaporised....you don't even know what a star is, do you?

Oh thank Zeus, I thought you were serious for a second there.

Wait, that's not a disclaimer?

God so loved the world that he destroyed the fuck out of it! Ya, God must be like a 7 year old kid who builds a lego castle then delights in busting it apart.

Because that is much more believable than global warming.

Why would you worship a God that would do all those things to a planet full of life? Do all those things not seem... devilish to you?

Because invisible sky-daddy throwing stars at the planet is real science!

10/4/2009 5:15:26 PM

Caustic Gnostic

No observable event on this planet has any need for a supernatural stimulus. And no evidence for such has ever been found, even though people had been looking.

Indeed, there is no evidence of any supernatural cause to anything beyond the Singularity.

god is an imaginary super-jackass who cannot even "cause" his own legitimate manifestation before the eyes of objective observers.
