This makes me sick to my stomach that this will be happening.
Boo Fucking Hoo! Get over yourself. This is the United States, not Jesusland, You don't get a say in what anybody else chooses to believe or how they express their beliefs. If you cannot deal with that then I suggest you go and find yourself a nice little christian theocracy.
I wish thousands of Christians would come out that day and surround them.
Why? To intimidate them? To prove your "god's" dick is bigger than their "god's" dick? You sit here and advocate persecuting another religion and then claim you are persecuted when you aren't allowed to use the law to do it. You are the antithesis to the idea of religious freedom put forth by the founding fathers.
That would be awesome if that would happen.
Because religious persecution is O-fucking-K as long as your the ones doing the persecuting, right?
We need people to go there and pray to the real God!
It might come as news to you, but muslims and christians pray to the same "god", a fact that you would know had you ever bothered to read the Qu'ran or at least found out what muslims do or do not believe. It would also help if you would read your own bibles rather than just relying on what others tell you it says.
Even though America allows freedom of worship, this event should not be happening in this country!
Why? Just because you don't approve? For freedom of religion to exist in america it must remain absolute, what you want, or seem to claim the founding fathers really meant, is not freedom of religion, but instead the total supremacy of christianity. You couldn't be further from the truth.
This event is a desecration of our founding forefathers ideals and beliefs about America.
Really? Then why did they word the constitution to say Freedom of Religion and not freedom of christianity? Why did the founders negotiate and ratify a treaty that says "America is in no was based upon the christian religion"?
What you are advocating is the true desecration of our founders ideals. What you are advocating is that religions other than your own should not have the right to be expressed publically lest you or your co-religionists be offended. That is not the ideals enshrined in the constitution by our founders.
God is not going to be pleased with this!
Whether or not your "god" is displeased is not a concern of US law. The constitution doesn't guarantee your "god" the right to not be displeased, it does, however, give every single US citizen the absolute right to worship whatever religion they wish, without interference by the state or members of other religions.
To those who think we should allow this because of religious freedom...do you really think God would want us to appease them just because it's their right?
Did your "god" not tell you to "Do unto others as you would have done to you"? And to "Love thy neighbor as thyself"? Judging only by the standards of your religion the answer is Yes, your "god" would want you to appease them because it is their right.Further more did your "god" not tell you to obey your leaders for your "god" has put them into power?
I say NO!
So you take it upon yourself to speak for your "god"?
God would not want us to compromise our faith!
And just how is allowing people other than yourself to worship whatever religion they choose "compromising" your faith? It's sound like both your purpose and intent is to "compromise" their faith by taking it upon yourself to decide what beliefs they are allowed to hold and what beliefs they can or cannot express.
God was at the center of the creation of our country
Then why did the founders not bother to mention your "god" a single time in the constitution? Not once is christianity, Jesus, or the christian god, or any other deity mentioned, or given authority in the US Constitution, the sole document which established the United Sates and provides the foundation of the rule of law. So tell me how your "god" is at the center of the creation of the country? And that's not even bringing into the matter the fact that many of america's founders where not even christians, but rather deists who don't believe in a personal god or a god who is active in human affairs, some of whom were even openly critical of christianity.
This is an abomination to America.
Your doctrine of Christianity uber Alles is an abomination to the american constitution. The constitution guarantees freedom of religion for all citizens without preconditions. It does not say a citizen has the freedom to practice only the christian religion, it does not say that a citizen must refrain from making a public display of their religion unless they are a christian. Everything you advocate is an affront to the principles, rights, and freedoms enshrined in the US constitution.
Let the Islamics worship in their own mosques...not at the Capitol!!!
If a non believer were to state "Let the Christian worship in their own churches...not at the Capitol" then you would be practically tripping over yourselves to cry "Persecution" and how your 1st Ammendment rights were being violated, and you would be right to do so. What I can't understand is why you think it's perfectly ok for you to do to followers of another religion what would be criminal to do to your religion.
There is no law, no statute, no executive order, no clause, no constitutional ammendment, and certainly no precedent that can claim, in letter or in spirit, to give christians, and christan denominations any form or primacy, supremacy, or any other higher status which places it above other religions or gives it greater rights or status over other non-christian religions. So why is it you think that muslims, or any other non-christian religion, should legally be denied the rights and freedoms that the constitution provides to all people, citizen or not, regardless of their religion or lack thereof.
I don't know which disgusts me more, your blatent hypocrisy, or the fact that you either can't see it, or refuse to see it. You insult the freedoms that have made the US a great country by implying that they are, or should be, conditioned upon what religion a person subscribes to, as if that makes them "less" equal than other citizens. The Founding Fathers didn't establish a christian theocracy, nor did they make the freedoms codified in the Bill of Rights conditional on a citizen being a christian, and to claim "that's what they really meant" is ludicrous and self-delusional and based only on your misguided sense of religious superiority and bigotry.
Further more you insult your own religion by blatently ignoring the parts of your bible that bid you to treat others as you would wish to be treated and to love your neighbors as yourselves, and no where in your bible do you see those sentiments followed by "but only if they are christian". For a religion that once endured terrible persecution, and which some still claim to be even in the modern era, one would think that they would not wish to revisit that persecution on anyone. Yet here you are chomping at the bit to rain down persecution on a religion that worships the same "god" you claim too. And for what? To take vengence against them, in the name of your "god", for not being christian, even though your holy book, your "word of your god" tells you that vengence belongs to your "god" alone.
With your bigotry and your bloodlust you have managed to disgrace your country and it's founders, your religion and it's "god", and the whole of a civilization that had dared to hope that it could move beyond such petty bigotry and ultimately pointless hatred.
