Thinking for ourselves is quite dangerous..

Would it not, rather, be prudent to seek the Lord and Live?

Well, you're in no danger, anyway.

I know it's hard for most fundies to comprehend, but in fact, most people do not explode if they rub two neurons together.

If that is your definition of life, I want none of it. I'd rather take a chance with hellfire.

Of course a fundie would think that. I mean what good every came from independent thought? Only equality, human rights, scientific, medical and technological advances. Not to mention some of the finest works of art, music and literature ever known.

We can't have that in fundiedom, now can we?

"Thinking for ourselves is quite dangerous.."

Every religion is terrified of those who think for themselves - it's just a short step from there to having no religion at all.

And who's going to keep Ratzinger and his ilk in the extravagant luxury to which they've become accustomed if not the mindless drones?

Hm, if this is your opinion, quit using computers, cars, modern medicines and everything else the modern world has to offer, because all of these things were made by people who thought for themselves ;)

Yes, it is dangerous - especially when you lack the proper equipment. It would be like fighting wildfires with a water pistol.

There it is in black and white. What we always thought was the dark core of the fundie mind.

Great idea. I'm trying to decide whether to just strip the wallpaper off my walls and repaint or rip down the walls, insulate, rewire and put up new drywall. If I ask God, do you think He'll tell me which to do?

Luckily, the guy who invented the computer you're typing on and the interned were you post this drivel did not agree with you. I'm sure your ilk would still be cowering in a cave screeching "Fire bad!!!"

The funny thing here is that the idea thinking is dangerous requires some degree thought itself (albeit not very bright thought). Therefore, it would in fact be more prudent to get over your fear of intellectual independence that revolves around thinking "...what if we're wrong?"

You need to realize that mode of thinking equally applies to "...what if we're wrong?" itself as well as "it's all in God's hands."

Hope this wasn't too TimeCubeish. :)
